Brian Harman Continues Strong 2024 at PLAYERS

Dating back to last season, lefty Brian Harman has made the cut in 17 straight PGA Tournaments. He started 2024 with a T5 at The Sentry and, most recently, finished T2 at THE PLAYERS. He was also T12 at the Arnold Palmer the week prior and, at age 37, has moved up to a career-best 8th in the OWGR.

Harman currently sits 13th on the Tour in strokes gained for 2024 and has some encouraging history at the Copperhead Course. Though he missed the cut here last season, he finished T5 in 2022 at -14.

Sam Burns Has Strong History at Copperhead

It’s impossible to ignore Sam Burns’ history at the Copperhead Course. The 27-year-old won the Valspar in both 2021 and 2022. Last year, he finished sixth at -5, five strokes back of Moore. In 2019, he was T30 and, in 2018, he was T12.

Burns has also had a strong start to his 2024 season, making the cut in all seven events he’s played (giving him a streak of 12 dating back to last year) and finishing in the top ten four times in those seven tries.

He only finished T45 at THE PLAYERS last week, dropping him to 20th in strokes gained for the season, but on the whole, his recent form and his history at this course portends good things from the LSU alum.

Doug Ghim Is on the Rise

Still just 118th in the world rankings, 27-year-old Doug Ghim is currently playing the best golf of his life. Ghim has made the cut in five straight tournaments and finished top-20 in all five. He was T13 at the Farmers (-8), T12 at the Waste Management (-12), T8 and the Mexico Open (-12), T16 at the Cognizant Classic (-11), and T16 again against an uber-strong field last week at THE PLAYERS (-10).

Last year, he managed a T27 at the Valspar. His only previous appearance came in 2021 when he missed the cut at even par after two rounds.

The Valspar Championship is one of the most highly anticipated events on the PGA Tour, attracting top golfers from around the world to compete for a share of the $6.7 million purse. With so much talent on display, it can be tough to predict who will come out on top. That’s where betting comes in.

If you’re looking to add some excitement to the tournament, here is a betting guide to help you make informed decisions on where to place your money.

Odds

Before placing any bets, it’s important to understand the odds. Odds represent the likelihood of a particular outcome happening and are typically displayed as fractions or decimals. For example, if a golfer has odds of 10/1, it means that they have a 1 in 10 chance of winning. The lower the odds, the more likely the outcome is to happen.

When looking at the odds for the Valspar Championship, keep an eye out for players who have a history of success at the tournament or who are in good form leading up to the event. Some of the favorites to win this year’s championship include Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland, and defending champion Sam Burns.

Head-to-Head Picks

One popular betting option for golf tournaments is head-to-head matchups. In these bets, you are wagering on which of two golfers will have the better score over the course of the tournament. When making head-to-head picks, consider factors such as recent form, course history, and head-to-head records between the two players.

For the Valspar Championship, potential head-to-head matchups to watch include Justin Thomas vs. Viktor Hovland, Sam Burns vs. Cameron Smith, and Corey Conners vs. Sungjae Im. Analyzing these matchups can help you identify value and make more informed betting decisions.

Top Bets

In addition to outright winner bets and head-to-head matchups, there are a variety of other betting options available for the Valspar Championship. Some popular bets include top-5 or top-10 finishes, prop bets on individual player performances, and live betting options that allow you to wager on the action as it unfolds.

When making your top bets for the tournament, consider factors such as course layout, weather conditions, and player strengths and weaknesses. Look for players who excel in key areas such as driving accuracy, putting, and scrambling, as these skills are often crucial for success at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course.

Overall, betting on the Valspar Championship can add an extra layer of excitement to an already thrilling event. By understanding the odds, making smart head-to-head picks, and identifying top bets, you can increase your chances of walking away with a winning ticket. Good luck!
