The Dubs started their trip with a 123-112 win at Washington on Tuesday, their ninth win in the last 11 games.

With the Knicks still reeling from injuries, Golden State has been listed as a road favorite in tonight’s Warriors vs Knicks odds.

While the Warriors have moved four games clear of Utah for the #10 seed in the Western Conference, they are still 3.5 games out of the top six in the latest NBA playoff bracket. New York, just 3-7 in its past ten, still holds the #4 seed in the East, with both Miami and Philadelphia 1.5 games back.

Warriors Stay Hot to Start Road Trip

Since falling five games under .500 on Jan. 27, no team has been hotter than the Warriors. Golden State has won 11 of 14 games since, covering the spread in every single victory. They have quietly improved to 31-25-1 against the number, which is the third-best cover rate in the entire NBA. The Dubs handed the Wizards their 12th straight loss on Tuesday, cruising to a 123-112 win in the nation’s capital, getting 25 points off the bench from Klay Thompson, who’s adjusted seamlessly to his new role.

Thompson (17.2 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 2.3 APG) scored 20-plus points in just one of his last seven games as a starter, but has reached that plateau in three of five games off the bench, including a season-high 35 at Utah on Feb. 15. Jonathan Kuminga (15.4 PPG, 4.7 RPG) continued his breakout season with 21 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Steph Curry (27.5 PPG, 5.1 APG) added 18 points and six assists on an off night shooting-wise (6-of-21 from the field).

Golden State is back in the top ten in Offensive Rating (117.5, 9th) while also improve to 18th in D-Rating (115.6). They were outside the top 20 for much of the season but have, sensibly, looked much better at that end of the court since Draymond Green returned from suspension in mid-January.

Knicks Routed by Pelicans Without Brunson

Already without Julius Randle (24.0 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 5.0 APG), OG Anunoby (15.6 PPG, 4.6 RPG), and Mitchell Robinson (6.2 PPG, 10.3 RPG), the Knicks were forced to take the court sans leading scorer Jalen Brunson (27.7 PPG, 6.7 APG) on Tuesday against the Pelicans. The result was a predictable 115-92 rout in which New York’s shot just 37.3% from the floor (31-of-83).

The game prior, with Brunson in the lineup, New York came perilously close to losing at home to the NBA-worst Detroit Pistons, needing a last-second no-call to secure a 113-111 win.

The injury-riddled Knicks have just two wins in their past eight games, the other W coming against the also-injury-riddled 76ers on Feb. 22 (110-96). They have been even worse against the spread, with just one ATS win in their past ten.

Randle, Anunoby, and Robinson all remain out of the lineup on Thursday. Brunson is listed as questionable in today’s NBA lineups due to the neck injury that held him out on Tuesday.

New York still sits in the top ten in O-Rating (117.6, eighth) but has fallen out of the top ten in D-Rating (113.5, 11th).

Thursday’s game will be the first of two meetings between the teams this year. Each won on its home court last season.

With Brunson’s status in question, he is actually the only Knicks player listed in the props for today’s game. Obviously, his presence/absence would significantly impact the over/unders for all of his teammates. If Brunson doesn’t play, all wagers on his props will be voided.

Warriors vs Knicks Prediction

This is a tale of two teams headed in opposite directions. New York might be set up well for a postseason run when healthy, but that’s not the case right now. Brunson is having to shoulder an unsustainable load while Randle and Anunoby are sidelined, and he’s clearly less than 100% (if he plays at all). The Warriors, meanwhile, have covered the spread in each of their last 13 victories, and I expect that to become 14 on Thursday night at MSG.

The odds for this game currently favor the Warriors, who are coming off a strong season and have proven themselves to be a formidable force on the court. The Knicks, on the other hand, have had a more inconsistent season but have shown flashes of brilliance that could make them a worthy opponent.

In terms of predictions, many experts believe that the Warriors will come out on top in this game. With star players like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson leading the charge, the Warriors have a strong offensive presence that could prove to be too much for the Knicks to handle. Curry, known for his incredible shooting ability and playmaking skills, will likely be a key player to watch as he looks to put up big numbers on the scoreboard.
