Biggest Week 5 Spread: Cardinals at 49ers (-7.5)
The biggest spread of Week 5 comes from the Arizona Cardinals (1-3) vs San Francisco 49ers (2-2), where the Niners are laying 7.5 points at home.
Despite a boatload of injuries, especially on the offensive side of the ball, the 49ers ran over the Patriots 30-13 at home in Week 4, easily covering as 10.5-point chalk. The Niners remain second only to the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl 59 odds.
The Cardinals, meanwhile, lost their second straight game – and fell to 1-3 overall – thanks to a dismal 42-14 loss at home to the Commanders as 3.5-point home favorites.
Highest Week 5 Game Total: Cardinals vs 49ers (49.5 O/U)
The Arizona vs San Francisco matchup also has the distinction of the highest Week 5 game total at 49.5, which is one point higher than the huge AFC North matchup between the Baltimore Ravens (1-2) and Cincinnati Bengals (1-3), who finally picked up their first win of the season at the Panthers (34-24) in Week 4.
OH MY JA’MARR CHASE. ELECTRIC 63-YARD TD.

The Bengals (3-1 over/under) may prove to be an over machine this year. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase have looked as potent as ever the last two weeks (Chase has 203 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the last two games) but the Bengal defense has been porous, and the banged-up unit doesn’t figure to turn a corner until the interior of their line gets healthy.
Lowest Week 5 Game Total: Dolphins vs Patriots (36.5 O/U)
The honor of lowest game total in Week 5 is actually split between two games: both the Miami Dolphins (1-3) vs New England Patriots (1-3) and Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) vs Denver Broncos (2-2) have totals of just 36.5 points. But the Miami/New England total has -110 odds both ways, while the LV/Denver total slightly favors the over at -115.
Miami has yet to play this week, but could only muster 13 total points the last two weeks combined. Starting QB Tua Tagovailoa has missed the bulk of that time and doesn’t figure to return in Week 5.
Heading into Week 4, the NFL over under trends showed Miami as one of just four teams that still hadn’t hit an over this season. (The Chargers, Giants, and Lions were the other three.)
New England, meanwhile, has scored just 16 points in its last two games: a 24-3 loss at the Jets and a 30-13 setback at the 49ers.
