- It’s an NFC North battle when the Green Bay Packers host the Minnesota Vikings Sunday at Lambeau Field at 1:00 pm ET, Sep. 29
- The game marks the return of running back Aaron Jones, who spent seven years with the Packers before signing with the Vikings in the off-season
- We’ve got the best Packers vs. Vikings picks, predictions, and odds for Week 4
Two teams off to surprising starts with surprising quarterbacks tangle Sunday when the Minnesota Vikings (3-0, 3-0 ATS) visit Lambeau Field and the Green Bay Packers (2-1, 2-1 ATS) at 1:00 pm ET.
Vikings fans breathed a sigh of relief early this week when quarterback Sam Darnold was deemed good to go after taking a shot to the knee in their win over the Texans. Darnold, who was not expected to be the starter after the drafting of JJ McCarthy (who then got hurt) leads the NFL with eight TD passes.
Green Bay has a quarterback issue of their own. Starter Jordan Love has missed the last two weeks with a sprained MCL. Back-up Malik Willis has filled in with a pair of wins. Love was back at practice this week and making progress toward returning.
The Packers are a slight favorite at home. Green Bay is getting the standard three points at in the Week 4 football betting lines. The over/under is sitting at 43.5, with some slight variation there.
Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings Prediction and Picks
- Minnesota Vikings -3 (104) at FanDuel
- Under 44 (-105) at DraftKings
We are ready to buy on the Vikings in 2024. Darnold has made good decisions in the pocket and Justin Jefferson is off to a big start. Darnold looks revitalized. He’s the first Vikings QB to throw multiple touchdown passes in three season-opening wins.
Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores has put together another tough unit. The Vikings lead the NFL with the most called blitzes of any team. Minnesota’s defense ranks No. 2 in scoring, and Patrick Jones II and Jonathan Greenard have four sacks each.
This Vikings defense had 9 year NFL vet, James James, confused— and he’s sitting behind a desk.
Now imagine how confusing this is for a QB, in real time.

Packer fans will get their first in-person look at running back Aaron Jones, who left Green Bay after seven seasons and almost 6,000 yards. He has 228 yards for the Vikings so far this season.

If Willis plays, then look for the Vikings defense to try to confuse him with their disguised blitzes and coverages.
If Love plays, remember, he looked shaky in his Week 1 performance against the Eagles in a loss. He was only 17-34 and had a bad interception. You also have to wonder about his mobility after this knee injury. The Packers basically were conservative with Willis behind center and took advantage of his mobility to run. Former Raider Josh Jacobs has stepped in for Jones as the Packers lead ball carrier. He has 278 yards in three games.
The Packer defense is quick and fast. Rashan Gary is an elite edge rusher and Green Bay has the most interceptions of any team in the NFL. Xavier McKinney leads the league with three picks.
The two teams have split the last eight meetings. The Packers have won six of the last 10. All three Minnesota games this season have hit the under.
