  • After each team opened with lopsided wins, the Dallas Cowboys host the New Orleans Saints on Sep. 16.
  • Favored by a touchdown, the Cowboys are 16-1 in their last 17 regular-season home games
  • Read on for the Dallas Cowboys vs New Orleans Saints predictions, picks, and odds for this Week 2 game

A pair of unbeaten teams clash in Big D when the Dallas Cowboys (1-0, 0-0 home, 1-0 ATS) host the New Orleans Saints (1-0, 0-0 away, 1-0 ATS) at AT&T Stadium Sunday at 1:00 pm ET.

Both teams had convincing wins in their season openers, but that may have been because of the opponent, not their own strength. The Saints led 30-0 over Carolina before winning 47-10, and Dallas led Cleveland and Deshaun Watson 27-3, before triumphing 33-17.

The Saints are now 5-1 straight-up and against the spread over their last six games dating back to last season. The Saints vs Cowboys odds have remained steady all week with the Cowboys roughly a six to seven-point favorite. The total has moved a point up from 45.5 to 46.5 at most sportsbooks.

New Orleans Saints vs Dallas Cowboys Predictions

This is the whole question of whether the Saints or Cowboys were really as good as they looked in Week 1, or were their opponents that bad? Carolina was putrid playing in the Superdome. Bryce Young threw a pick on his first throw, but defensively Carolina didn’t stop New Orleans much either. The Saints 47 points was the most of any NFL team in Week 1, and the most they’ve scored in a season opener since their Super Bowl season of 2009.

Same story for the Cowboys. Deshaun Watson looks cooked in Cleveland. Dallas got an early spark from running back Ezekiel Elliott and a back-breaking punt return for a touchdown from KaVontae Turpin to make it 27-3.

Dallas’ defense had six sacks of Watson and the offense largely coasted in the second half.

The Cowboys are still trying to forget the loss to the Packers last season in the NFC Wild Card round. Owner/GM/publicity hound Jerry Jones gave quarterback Dak Prescott $60 million a year for the next four years, basically telling Dak the time is now.

Dallas does have just as much talent as anyone in the NFC, except maybe for San Francisco. Dak has a top target in CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks, who it feels like has been playing forever, still has good speed. He had a long TD pass for Dallas. Cooks was actually drafted by New Orleans back in 2014.

Dallas leads the all-time series 13-18 and beat the Saints 27-17 in their last meeting back in 2021. Taysom Hill was the QB for the Saints in that game.

Dallas will be hard to beat at home, and you have to favor the match-up of Micah Parsons and the Cowboys defensive front against the Saints young offensive line. The Saints are better than the Browns, but the Cowboys are much much better than the Carolina Panthers.

Saints vs Cowboys Odds

Teams Spread Moneyline Total
New Orleans Saints -6.5 (-110) +230 O 47.0 (-108)
Dallas Cowboys +6.5 (-110) -270 U 47.0 (-112)

Odds as of Sep. 13 at DraftKings. See all the available DraftKings deposit methods to fund your DK account.

The odds on this one have fluctuated some with money coming in on the Saints. Not many people are high on New Orleans, but they have won five of their last six, dating back to 2023, and covered in all five wins. However, none of those wins came against a quality opponent.

The best value for a moneyline bet on the Cowboys is at DraftKings at -270. For the Saints, BetMGM has the moneyline at +230. Most totals are 46.5, but DraftKings has it at 47. We still like the under with the Cowboys figuring to clamp down on Derek Carr and the Saints offense.

In a highly anticipated matchup, the New Orleans Saints will face off against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2 of the NFL season. Both teams are coming off strong performances in Week 1, with the Saints defeating the Green Bay Packers and the Cowboys narrowly losing to the defending Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Saints are looking to continue their momentum from their impressive win over the Packers. Quarterback Jameis Winston had a stellar performance, throwing for five touchdowns and leading the offense to a dominant victory. The Saints defense also showed up big, holding Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to just three points.

On the other side, the Cowboys put up a strong fight against the Buccaneers, with Dak Prescott returning from injury and throwing for over 400 yards. Despite the loss, the Cowboys showed that they have a potent offense that can compete with any team in the league.

As for predictions, this game is shaping up to be a close one. The Saints have a strong defense and an explosive offense led by Winston, while the Cowboys have a high-powered offense with Prescott at the helm. It could come down to which defense can make key stops and which offense can capitalize on scoring opportunities.

In terms of picks, the Saints are currently favored by 3.5 points, according to oddsmakers. This could be a good bet for those who believe in the Saints’ ability to continue their winning ways. However, the Cowboys are a dangerous team and could easily pull off an upset on their home turf.

As for the over/under, the total points for this game is set at 52.5. Given the offensive firepower of both teams, this could be a high-scoring affair. Bettors may want to consider taking the over in this matchup.

Overall, this game has all the makings of a thrilling showdown between two talented teams. Fans can expect a competitive and exciting game that could go down to the wire. Whether you’re rooting for the Saints or the Cowboys, this matchup is sure to be one to watch in Week 2 of the NFL season.
