Biggest Spread of Preseason Week 2: Texans -4.5 vs Giants
The biggest point spread on the board so far sees the Houston Texans laying 4.5 points at home to the New York Giants. Houston was one of the most-impressive teams during Week 1 of the preseason, cruising to a 20-12 road win at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Houston has three QBs on the roster that are vying to be CJ Stroud’s backup – Davis Mills, Case Keenum, and Tim Boyle – and all three played reasonably well in Week 1.
It was the defense that was the real MVP of the win over Pittsburgh, though, generating two takeaways (one interception and one fumble recovery), which helped Houston pitch a shutout through the first 40 minutes of the game.
The Giants also looked good in Week 1, however, breezing past the Detroit Lions 14-3 at home. Tommy DeVito was 8-of-15 for 92 yards, no TDs, and no INTs, while Drew Lock was just 4-of-10 for 17 yards and a pick in relief.
Running back Eric Gray, a 2023 fifth-round pick out of Oklahoma, scored both NYG touchdowns on the ground, finishing with 52 yards and two majors on just four carries.

Eagles, Falcons Only Road Favorites (So Far)
Of the games on the board on Sunday night, only two show the road team as the favorite. In the first game of Week 2 on Thursday night, the Philadelphia Eagles are 2.5-point road favorites at the New England Patriots. The Pats were able to down the Carolina Panthers, 17-3, at home in Week 1, while the Eagles went into Baltimore and emerged with a hard-fought 16-13 win at the Ravens, erstwhile kings of the preseason.
On Saturday morning, Atlanta is a 1.5-point road favorite at those same Ravens. While Atlanta fell 20-13 at the Miami Dolphins in their Week 1 clash, rookie QB Michael Penix Jr was a standout. The former Washington Husky was 9-of-16 for 104 yards in his first taste of preseason action, including a 41-yard bomb to Chris Blair.
This 41 yard completion by Michael Penix Jr. down the sideline probably made Chris Blair feel good after his fumble.
