The Week 17 odds are characterized by fairly big spreads. Six of the 16 games have a spread of 5.5 or higher, while four are over a touchdown.

Biggest NFL Week 17 Point Spread: Bills (-9.5) vs Jets

For the second straight week, the Buffalo Bills (11-3, 9-5 ATS) have opened with the biggest spread on the board, laying 9.5 points to the New York Jets (4-11, 5-10 ATS).

Buffalo, which was a 13-point favorite against the Patriots in Week 16, still has an outside shot that the #1 seed in the AFC, which comes with the lone bye to the divisional round. The Bills need to win their final two games and have the 14-1 Kansas City Chiefs lose their final two games to the Steelers and Broncos.

The Jets are coming off another ugly offensive performance in Week 16, losing 19-9 at home to the Rams. New York’s only win in its last six games was a 32-25 victory over the lowly Jaguars.

Highest NFL Week 17 Game Total: Lions vs 49ers (52.5)

The highest game total on the board is in the matchup between the Detroit Lions (13-2, 8-7 O/U) and San Francisco 49ers (6-8, 7-7 O/U) in the Bay Area. With a massive total of 52.5, Lions/Niners is four points higher than any other game on the board. Broncos/Bengals and Cardinals/Rams are the next-highest at 48.5.

In Week 16, Detroit’s game total eclipsed 50 for the third straight week (a 34-17 win over the Bears). The Niners, on the other hand, have only had one game go over 50 points in their last five contests (a 38-13 win over the Bears in Week 14). At the time of writing, they were trailing Miami 19-17 midway through the fourth quarter of their Week 16 game.

Lowest NFL Week 17 Game Total:  Colts/Giants, Raiders/Saints, Titans Jaguars (39.5)

The lowest total on the board in Week 17 is 39.5, which is the opening over/under in three different contests: Indianapolis Colts (7-8, 7-7-1 O/U) vs New York Giants (2-13, 5-10 O/U), Las Vegas Raiders (2-12, 8-6 O/U) vs New Orleans Saints (5-9, 7-7 O/U), and Tennessee Titans (3-12, 9-5-1 O/U) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (3-11, 8-6 O/U). All three opened with the over priced at -115 and the under at -105.
