  • The Vikings still have a chance to earn the top seed in the NFC with a win and help

They’re both playoff-bound, but a Week 17 matchup between the Green Bay Packers (11-5, 5-2 away) and the Minnesota Vikings (13-2, 7-1 home) will go along way to determining where they’ll end up seeded when the dust settles. Minnesota can still claim top seed in the NFC if it can win out, as Week 18 has Detroit – the team they’re chasing – on the horizon. The Packers likely want to stay as the current 5-seed, where it would visit Atlanta or Tampa (the NFC South winner). Kickoff for this matchup of NFC North rivals is set for 4:25pm ET from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Football fans have been waiting for the Sam Darnold bubble to burst, but the third-overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft (by the Jets, no less!) has Minnesota in control of its own playoff destiny. Win out, and they win the NFC North and claim the top seed and all-important first-round bye.

The Vikes have ripped off nine wins in a row, and Darnold has been mostly terrific. He’s completed at least 60% of his passes in each win, and has averaged 240.1 yards per game. Save for the first two games of this streak, where he threw three TD’s against five picks, Darnold has since thrown 15 TD’s against just one interception over the last seven.

And still, there’s something about Jordan Love and the Packers that has them just one-point underdogs on Sunday. Since their Week 10 bye, the Packers have ripped off five wins over its last six, and they’ve put up at least 30 points in five straight contests.

They own a top-ten passing defense, and they rank seventh in scoring, putting up 27.5 points per game – a few spots higher than the Vikes, who are averaging 26.4 points.

They won’t have top cover corner Jaire Alexander (knee), but trying to contain the dynamite trio of Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and TJ Hockenson was always going to be a group project.

In the end, I think the Packers, who have found balance in their offence with Josh Jacobs running for 1,200+ yards on the year will simply work to outscore those woes.

It was a 31-29 shootout the last time the Pack played the Vikes, and it should be another high-scoring game in Week 17.

In a highly anticipated Week 17 matchup, the Green Bay Packers will face off against the Minnesota Vikings in a battle for NFC North supremacy. Both teams have had successful seasons thus far, with the Packers currently sitting at the top of the division with a record of 11-4, while the Vikings are close behind at 10-5.

The odds for this game are expected to be close, as both teams have strong offenses and defenses. The Packers are currently favored by 3 points, but with the game being played in Minnesota, the home-field advantage could play a significant role in the outcome.

When it comes to predictions, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will come out on top. The Packers have been led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is having another MVP-caliber season with 4,059 passing yards and 36 touchdowns. The Vikings, on the other hand, have been buoyed by the play of quarterback Kirk Cousins, who has thrown for 3,913 yards and 32 touchdowns.

In terms of player props, there are several key matchups to keep an eye on. One of the most intriguing battles will be between Packers wide receiver Davante Adams and Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson. Adams leads the league in receiving yards with 1,429 and has 14 touchdowns on the season, while Peterson is a seven-time Pro Bowler known for his shutdown coverage skills.

Another key matchup to watch will be between Packers running back Aaron Jones and Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks. Jones has rushed for 890 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Kendricks leads the Vikings in tackles and is known for his ability to disrupt opposing running games.

Overall, this Week 17 matchup between the Packers and Vikings is shaping up to be a must-watch game with playoff implications on the line. Both teams have their strengths and weaknesses, but one thing is for certain – it’s going to be a hard-fought battle until the final whistle blows. Be sure to tune in to see which team comes out on top in this NFC North showdown.
