Bears vs Texans Player Prop #1: DJ Moore Receiving Yards
Bears wide receiver DJ Moore is certain to draw a crowd this week, as both Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze are banged up.
Moore has exceeded his receiving yardage line 67.5 yards in just three of his past 10 games. The Maryland product reeled in 5-of-8 targets for just 36 yards last week against the Titans, and I love the idea of fading him again on Sunday Night Football.
The 2018 first-round draft pick will draw the attention of Houston’s top cover corner Derek Stingley Jr. Stingley posted an PFF elite coverage grade of 84.9 last season, while allowing just 21 receptions for a total of 361 yards last season. On top of those impressive numbers, the former LSU Tiger picked up five passes and scored three defensive touchdowns and added six pass deflections last season.
Hell of a play by Derek Stingley to kill this wide receiver screen before rookie AD Mitchell can even mentally register that he has his first NFL catch.

I like Stingley to get the better of DJ Moore in this Bears vs Texans Sunday Night Football matchup. Fade Moore’s receiving yardage total.
- Pick: DJ Moore under 67.5 Receiving Yards (-114); risk 1 unit

Bears vs Texans Player Prop #2: Joe Mixon Anytime Touchdown
Priced at a slightly juiced -130, Joe Mixon is a great bet to find the endzone in Week 2.
The freshly minted Texans running back looked explosive in Week 1 against the Colts, rushing for 159 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries. He’ll see plenty of volume against a Bears front that allowed 140 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown to the lowly Titans last week.
Jon Gruden on Joe Mixon has me CRYING
“I love Joe Mixon. I don’t like him, I love him”
“There’s good burgers & GREAT burgers. There’s good hotels, great hotels. There’s good backs & GREAT backs” 🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/hlBfqSJ6I1
— Houston Stressans (@TexansCommenter) September 13, 2024
Crucially, Mixon saw five red zone touches (one at the goal line) and has little competition for touches in the Texans backfield. Now fully healthy, there’s no reason to believe he can’t build upon the 12 total touchdowns he scored last season.
Houston’s mammoth offensive line will have no problem clearing plenty of rushing room for Mixon to find the endzone on SNF. There’s also a decent chance Mixon plays a significant role in the passing game, according to John Hyslop’s Bears vs Texas same-game parlay.
- Pick: Joe Mixon Anytime Touchdown (-130), risk 1 unit

As Sunday Night Football approaches in Week 2, fans and bettors alike are gearing up for an exciting matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans. While the game itself is sure to be thrilling, many are also looking forward to placing bets on player props to add an extra layer of excitement to the evening.
For those unfamiliar with player prop bets, they are wagers placed on specific individual performances within a game. These bets can range from predicting the number of passing yards a quarterback will throw for, to how many receptions a wide receiver will have, to whether a certain player will score a touchdown. With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to decide where to place your money. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of some top player prop bets to consider for Sunday night’s game:
1. Deshaun Watson Over 250.5 Passing Yards
The Texans’ quarterback is known for his ability to air it out and put up big numbers through the air. Facing a tough Bears defense, Watson will likely be forced to throw often to keep his team in the game. Look for him to surpass the 250.5 passing yards mark.
2. David Montgomery Over 60.5 Rushing Yards
The Bears’ running back had a solid performance in Week 1, rushing for 64 yards on 13 carries. Against a Texans defense that struggled against the run last season, Montgomery should have plenty of opportunities to rack up yards on the ground.
3. Will Fuller Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Fuller is one of Watson’s favorite targets in the passing game and has a knack for finding the end zone. With his speed and ability to make big plays, look for Fuller to score a touchdown at some point during the game.
4. Allen Robinson Over 5.5 Receptions
Robinson is the Bears’ top receiving option and has a strong connection with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Against a Texans secondary that gave up over 300 passing yards in Week 1, Robinson should see plenty of targets and surpass the 5.5 reception mark.
5. J.J. Watt Over 0.5 Sacks
The Texans’ defensive end is a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line and is always a threat to get to the quarterback. Facing a Bears offensive line that struggled in Week 1, Watt should have ample opportunities to record at least one sack.
As always, it’s important to do your own research and consider all factors before placing any bets. Player prop bets can be a fun way to enhance your viewing experience and potentially win some money, so be sure to tune in on Sunday night and see how these predictions play out. Good luck!
