Prop Picks #1: Carson Beck Passing Yards
To kickstart our UGA vs Clemson player props, I’m targeting Georgia pivot Carson Beck’s passing yards. The senior is a Heisman Trophy frontrunner after a breakout 2023 campaign where he threw for 3,941 yards and 24 touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes.
Beck topped this 262.5 yard prop in nine of his 14 starts last year, averaging a robust 281.5 passing yards per game. He was incredibly efficient, posting 9.5 yards per attempt which ranked second nationally among QBs with 400+ passes.
Even with the departures of Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey, Beck still has an abundance of weapons in the passing game. Dominic Lovett returns as his go-to slot target after leading the team in receptions, while Colbie Young and Dillon Bell provide big play ability on the outside.
Stanford transfer Benjamin Yurosek, meanwhile, steps into Bowers’ role as UGA’s dynamic tight-end threat. Beck will also have the 6’5″ Oscar Delpe, who hauled in 24 passes for 284 yards in Athens last year.

Clemson’s secondary is a potential weakness after losing both starting cornerbacks from last season. The Tigers like to play a lot of man coverage and bring pressure, which could lead to big plays for Beck and the Georgia passing attack.
In a marquee season opener, look for Beck to come out slinging as he makes an early Heisman statement. The stage is set for him to light up the box score. Take the over on his 262.5 passing yard prop.
- Pick: Carson Beck Over 262.5 Passing Yards (-114)
Prop Picks #2: Phil Mafah Rushing Yards
On the Clemson side, I’m projecting the Tigers’ top running back to do some major damage on the ground. The senior is poised to be the Tigers’ workhorse back this year after splitting carries with Will Shipley in 2023.
Last season, he rushed 179 times for 965 yards (5.4 YPC) and 13 touchdowns while sharing the backfield. Mafah could see 20-25 touches per game in 2024 as the unquestioned lead back. Even against a stout Georgia defense, the volume alone gives him a great chance to top 72 yards.

At 6’1″ and 230 pounds, Mafah is a load to bring down. His bruising, physical running style wears down defenses as the game goes on. Mafah excels at falling forward and consistently gains yards after contact.
Clemson’s offensive line struggled at times in 2023, ranking just 65th in yards per carry. But with four starters returning and the addition of highly-touted freshmen like Ronan O’Connell and Watson Young, the unit is poised to take a big step forward.
Finally, Mafah, a native of Loganville, Georgia, grew up just 45 miles from Athens. Georgia recruited him heavily out of high school before he ultimately chose Clemson. You can bet Mafah will be extra motivated to put on a show against his home state school in front of family and friends.
- Pick: Phil Mafah Over 71.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

The UGA vs Clemson touchdown scorer props show UGA’s Branson Robinson with the best odds to get into the endzone at -200, which translates to a 66.7% implied probability.
I’ve already highlighted Carson Beck above, and he’s certainly worth considering to score at +200 odds. While he’s known for his passing, the value here is intriguing given his potential to sneak one in himself. However, there’s another touchdown prop on Saturday that might offer even better value.
Anytime TD Picks: Dillon Bell
Georgia wide receiver Dillon Bell is a sneaky bet to score a touchdown at appealing +180 odds. The junior speedster is primed for an expanded role after flashing big play ability in 2023.
Bell averaged 18.5 yards on his 17 catches last season, scoring two touchdowns. He also added 157 rushing yards and two more scores on just 25 carries, showcasing his versatility and explosiveness with the ball in his hands.

— Dawg Football Weekly (@DogFootballWkly) August 28, 2024
With Bowers and McConkey no longer in the picture, Bell has a chance to emerge as one of Beck’s top targets, especially on shot plays downfield. His elite speed will test a Clemson secondary that is inexperienced on the outside.
Bell has also been getting rave reviews in camp. He was recently named the No. 12 most important player in the College Football Playoff race by ESPN, with the site noting, “Bell is primed to produce video game-like numbers this year.”
At +180 odds, Bell is well worth a sprinkle to reach the end zone on Saturday. His big-play ability and increased opportunity in the Georgia offense make him an intriguing touchdown dart throw. Consider rolling the dice on the speedster to score in this high-profile opener.
- Anytime TD Pick: Dillon Bell (+180)
