Geno Smith Passing Yards & Completions
Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks have been one of the best stories of the 2024 NFL season so far. I’m looking to target Smith in the Week 5 NFL player props against the Giants in what should be another big evening for the veteran pivot.
In Week 4 against Detroit, the veteran quarterback completed 38 of 56 pass attempts for 395 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. However, the Seahawks lost by double digits and all the talk afterward was about Jared Goff’s perfect game.

I think there will be solid value on the “over” of both Smith’s completions prop and passing yards total. He leads the NFL in both categories, and I don’t think his regression will start against one of the league’s worst secondaries.
The Giants are allowing opposing QBs to complete 72.6% of passes against them, which is third-worst in the league. Given his chemistry with Metcalf is only growing, I’m continuing to look to bet Smith to throw the ball over 40 times and record 300-plus passing yards against New York.
- NFL Prop Picks: Geno Smith Over 300 Passing Yards, Over 40 Completions
Zach Ertz Receiving Yards
Another player I’m bullish on heading into Week 5 is Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz. The veteran had a quiet afternoon against Arizona, hauling in three targets for 22 yards. However, I’m expecting one of his better performances of the season in Week 5.
The Browns have given up 30-plus yards to the tight end position in three of their four games, including in Week 2 when Jacksonville’s Brenton Strange went off for 65 yards. I expect Daniels to look to Ertz often Sunday, especially considering he’s hauled in 15 of 16 targets so far.

The Browns’ secondary this season has held opposing QBs to a 58.2% completion percentage, which is almost tops in the league. Despite an underwhelming start to 2024, the Browns have elite defensive playmakers that will make life difficult for Daniels.
I’m predicting Daniels to rely on his 6’5″ tight end Ertz early and often in Week 5, cashing the “over” on Ertz’s receiving props in the process.
- NFL Prop Pick: Zach Ertz Over 45 Receiving Yards
As we head into Week 5 of the NFL season, there are several player props worth considering for your fantasy football lineups. From breakout performances to potential sleepers, here are some top NFL player props to keep an eye on this week:
Geno Smith, QB, Seattle Seahawks
With starting quarterback Russell Wilson sidelined with a finger injury, Geno Smith is set to take the reins of the Seahawks’ offense in Week 5. Smith has shown flashes of talent in limited playing time over his career, and he will have a chance to showcase his skills against a tough Los Angeles Rams defense. Look for Smith to target wide receiver Tyler Lockett and tight end Gerald Everett in the passing game, making him a solid option for fantasy owners in need of a quarterback.
Zach Ertz, TE, Arizona Cardinals
After being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Arizona Cardinals, Zach Ertz is poised to make an immediate impact in his new offense. Ertz is a proven pass-catching tight end who has a strong rapport with quarterback Kyler Murray. With star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins likely to draw plenty of attention from opposing defenses, Ertz could see an uptick in targets and red zone opportunities. Consider starting Ertz as a top tight end option in Week 5.
Justin Fields, QB, Chicago Bears
Rookie quarterback Justin Fields is set to make his first career start for the Chicago Bears in Week 5. Fields is a dynamic playmaker with the ability to make plays with his arm and his legs, making him an intriguing fantasy option. While he may face some growing pains in his first start, Fields has the potential to put up big numbers against a struggling Las Vegas Raiders defense. Look for Fields to target wide receiver Allen Robinson and tight end Cole Kmet in the passing game, making him a high-upside play for fantasy owners.
D’Andre Swift, RB, Detroit Lions
D’Andre Swift has emerged as the top running back for the Detroit Lions this season, and he has been a consistent producer in both the running and passing game. Swift has shown the ability to make big plays both on the ground and through the air, making him a versatile weapon for fantasy owners. In Week 5, Swift will face a tough Minnesota Vikings defense, but his ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game makes him a solid option for fantasy owners in need of a running back.
Overall, these player props offer plenty of upside for fantasy owners in Week 5. Whether you’re looking for a quarterback to stream, a tight end with breakout potential, or a running back with dual-threat capabilities, these players are worth considering for your fantasy football lineups. Keep an eye on their performances this week and be ready to capitalize on their potential for big games.
