Top NFL Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year Betting Picks Following the 2025 Draft

  • With the NFL Draft in the books, it’s time to look at the Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year odds
  • Travis Hunter is a top-three favorite in the odds for both awards
  • Read below for the NFL OROY and DROY odds and our best bets for each

Now that the dust has settled from the 2025 NFL Draft, the books have started sharing odds for their both Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year. For the first time since probably before the Super Bowl era, one player actually sits in the top threeof both awards: Jaguars’ rookie Travis Hunter, who intends to play both sides of the ball this season, the NFL’s Shohei Ohtani, if you will.

Whether the Jags allow that to happen is another story, but for now, let’s have a look at the current odds for both awards, some of the guys worth monitoring, and our best bets.

OROY Best Bet: Sanders Offers Best Value

There’s a very good chance that Ashton Jeanty claims OROY, as he ranks first in NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds, just ahead of Cam Ward. But at this point, this early in the game, I’d suggest seeking out some value, as these odds will change drastically if someone establishes themselves as the frontrunner.

The obvious one for me is quarterback Shedeur Sanders with the Cleveland Browns. Now that he’s finally been selected, we can get to the business of football, and the case for his OROY is obvious: Sanders is by far themost talented QB in that Browns meeting room.

If he outworks and outperforms his colleagues, Kevin Stefanski can’t ignore the talent and the fact he’s the best option for the Browns to win games. Make sure you keep tabs on the NFL OROY tracker, especially during Cleveland OTAs and camp. If there’s a sniff Sanders could be a Day 1 starter, these odds will be as short as Ward and Jeanty’s.

Aside from Sanders, I like the running backs in the field. Jeanty is for sure the headliner, but the other guys offer some real juice, and are in ideal situations. Jim Harbaugh grinded out a legit run game with Baltimore castoffs Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins. While Najee Harris is a nice addition, Hampton figures to be the workhorse at some point, and the RB1 sooner than later.

Ditto TreVeyon Henderson, who will be in a timeshare with Rhamondre Stevenson, but is destined to be the man in Mike Vrabel’s system in New England. Keep an eye on how Jacksonville intends to use Travis Hunter too. If he skews to WR and is only a late-game cover corner, he’ll be in the mix here for sure too.

NFL DROY Odds

DROY Best Bet: Look Out for Pass Rushers

It’s hard not to lean into the top pick here, because I’m on the “Abdul Carter might be the most talented player in the entire draft” boat.

No surprise our NFL DPOY odds tracker has him up top, and he won’t have to worry about being the guy, but just a terror among a Giants group of pass rushers that consists of Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence.

The pass rushers all seem appealing to me for DROY, especially Atlanta first-rounder Jalon Walker. The Falcons have finally put real captial behind a real struggle for them, and he’ll bookend with veteran Leonard Floyd and fellow rookie James Pearce Jr to form a trio finally worthy of offensive coordinators’ concern.

Count Shemar Stewart in that group for me too, as he’ll have a chance to put a real dent in the sack column — far more than the 11 he recorded at Texas A&M — playing opposite sack master Trey Hendrickson in Cincinnati.

The Bengals have been a one-man gang up front, so the arrival of a live body who can really alter the pass rush landscape should be a welcomed addition.

If you’re looking for a real long shot, you could feel the real disdain of corner Will Johnson as he fell to 47 to the Cardinals over concerns of a knee injury. He was touted with Day 1 talent. A fast start to the season for him, and those +3000 odds will shrink fast.

We’ll end with a Travis Hunter reminder, but wait till something is more concrete before you take a sprinkle on him.

The NFL Draft is always an exciting time for football fans as they eagerly anticipate which new players will join their favorite teams. With the 2025 NFL Draft now in the books, it’s time to start looking ahead to which rookies could make a big impact in their first season and potentially earn the coveted Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards.

On the offensive side of the ball, there are several standout rookies who could be in the running for the award. One player to keep an eye on is quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was selected first overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Lawrence is widely regarded as one of the top quarterback prospects in recent years and has the potential to make an immediate impact for the Jaguars.

Another player to watch is wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with the fifth overall pick. Chase played alongside Joe Burrow at LSU and the two already have great chemistry on the field. If Chase can continue to develop at the NFL level, he could be a strong contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

On the defensive side of the ball, one player who stands out is linebacker Micah Parsons, who was selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 12th overall pick. Parsons is a versatile defender who can make plays all over the field and has the potential to be a game-changer for the Cowboys defense.

Another defensive rookie to keep an eye on is cornerback Patrick Surtain II, who was drafted by the Denver Broncos with the ninth overall pick. Surtain comes from a football family and has all the tools to be a shutdown corner in the NFL. If he can make an immediate impact for the Broncos, he could be a strong contender for Defensive Rookie of the Year.

When it comes to betting on the Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards, it’s important to consider not only the talent of the players but also the situations they find themselves in. Factors such as playing time, coaching staff, and surrounding talent can all play a role in a rookie’s success in their first season.

As always, it’s important to do your research and consider all factors before placing any bets. With that being said, Trevor Lawrence, Ja’Marr Chase, Micah Parsons, and Patrick Surtain II are all players to keep an eye on as potential candidates for Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year following the 2025 NFL Draft.
