- College football gamblers are in for a treat once again on Saturday, October 5, 2024
- There are a million games but two have caught my eye and both need to be pounded
- See the best way to bet on these Saturday college football games below
Another week is in the books, which means one thing. Gambling on football all day on Saturday and Sunday. The thing is, we can’t gamble on football all day if we don’t start with the 12pm ET slate. That’s just a big ole fact. Lucky for us, we’ve got plenty of action early on so all we need to do now is pick our spots.
The first game is easy as it’s the only ranked game on the slate. Missouri is taking on Texas A&M at noon so obviously we’re betting that. When they wrap up, I figure we can go right into the Indiana Hoosiers/Northwestern Wildcats matchup. If we play our cards right, we could have action from noon until 7 pm on Saturday. Anytime you’re in a spot like that, you do it. Honestly, this could be the greatest Saturday of our lives. Maybe better.

Missouri Will Turn Up
College football is about the vibes. You need swag or you’re toast. Especially in the SEC. It’s the most unforgiving conference on the planet and I don’t think that will ever change.
So if we’re going to back a team, we want one with a quarterback who isn’t afraid to give a little bulletin board material.

This one will be a real butt squeezer but that’s what we want in a noon game. The bad news is, Texas A&M has not given up 24 points in a game yet this season. Notre Dame, Florida and Bowling Green all slipped into the 20s but just couldn’t get over the hump. Arkansas put up 14 in the first quarter last week before completely peeing down their legs and ending with 17.
So why should we back Missouri to go 24+? Because they’ve done that in every game this season. They feature what I think is the best passing attack Texas A&M has seen so far. They’ve got a kid called Luther Burden and he could easily be the best wide receiver in the country. We’ve seen the Aggies give up huge plays through the air already this season. I think we’ll see more than one Saturday. Feels right.

Indiana Might Actually Be Good
Here’s the thing about college football. Teams can come out of nowhere and surprise everyone. There are a million schools out there so it makes sense. It happens every single season and this season is no different.
The thing is, should we have seen Indiana coming?
One of the BIGGEST surprises of September?? @IndianaFootball 😤😤

Curt Cignetti came to Bloomington from James Madison over the summer, and that changed everything. Turns out, the guy wins. He was 52-9 at James Madison and now he’s 5-0 at Indiana. Keep in mind the season win total for the Hoosiers this season was 5.5. They could literally cash that this weekend.
Instead of going with a 13.5-point cover, I’m thinking we go with a 30-burger. For starters, they’ve done that in every single game this season. To be fair, they’ve hung at least 42 on everyone so far. I get that they are on the road against a Northwestern team that has yet to allow 30+, but to be fair, they’ve played no one. I think Indiana lights them up.

As college football season is in full swing, fans and bettors alike are eagerly anticipating the games scheduled for October 5th. With several exciting matchups on the slate, it can be tough to decide where to place your bets. To help you navigate through the plethora of options, here are some of today’s best college football picks:
1. Alabama vs. Texas A&M: Alabama has been dominant so far this season, boasting a perfect record and a high-powered offense led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Texas A&M, on the other hand, has struggled against top competition and will have a tough time keeping up with the Crimson Tide. Look for Alabama to cover the spread in this one.
2. Iowa vs. Michigan: Iowa has been a surprise team this season, with a stout defense and an efficient offense. Michigan, on the other hand, has underperformed and will be looking to bounce back from a tough loss last week. This game could go either way, but Iowa’s defense gives them the edge in what should be a low-scoring affair.
3. Florida vs. Auburn: Florida has been one of the most impressive teams in the country this season, with a strong defense and an explosive offense. Auburn, meanwhile, has looked solid but will face their toughest test yet against the Gators. Look for Florida to pull off the upset and cover the spread in this highly anticipated matchup.
4. Oklahoma vs. Kansas: Oklahoma has been rolling so far this season, with Heisman candidate Jalen Hurts leading the way. Kansas, on the other hand, has struggled and will have a tough time keeping up with the high-powered Sooners. Expect Oklahoma to cover the spread in this one.
5. LSU vs. Utah State: LSU has been one of the most impressive teams in the country this season, with a high-flying offense and a stingy defense. Utah State, on the other hand, has struggled against top competition and will have a tough time keeping up with the Tigers. Look for LSU to cover the spread in what should be a high-scoring affair.
In conclusion, there are plenty of exciting matchups to look forward to on October 5th in college football. By considering these picks, you can make informed decisions when placing your bets and hopefully come out on top. Good luck!
