The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles both held practices in New Orleans on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. After each practice, the teams released their injury reports, as required by the NFL. The final Chiefs vs Eagles injury reports came out earlier today and here is how each team looks on the injury front heading into Super Bowl 59.
Final Chiefs vs Eagles Injury Reports (Super Bowl 59)
Neither side is in bad shape after a bye week between the conference championships and the Super Bowl, but the Eagles are certainly in worse shape than the Chiefs roughly 48 hours from kickoff.

The moneyline has been steadily moving towards the Eagles since the Super Bowl 59 odds opened 12 days ago. Philly was a +105 underdog in the opening Chiefs vs Eagles spread, but Nick Sirianni’s team is as short as -110 at some sportsbooks as of Friday afternoon. The NFL public betting trends show Philadelphia getting 58% of moneyline handle and a massive 75% of ATS handle as of 2:23 pm ET.
Eagles’ DeVonta Smith Limited, But Brandon Graham Practices in Full
DeVonta Smith (833 receiving yards, eight TDs) has been limited all week due to a hamstring injury. Philadelphia’s second-leading receiver during the regular season, Smith has caught exactly four passes in each of the Eagles’ first three postseason games this year, turning all 12 of his targets into receptions. Smith and AJ Brown are Philly’s only real deep threats and it will be a big blow if he’s less than 100%.
Smith doesn’t have an injury designation so will definitely be in the lineup, but it’s unclear if he will have his full burst downfield.
Philadelphia could get a boost along the defensive line if veteran edge rusher Brandon Graham is able to return. Graham has been out since late November with a triceps/elbow injury. The 36-year-old, who has 76.5 career sacks and is only two years removed from an 11-sack season, is not the force he used to be on the edge. But he had 3.5 sacks and 6.5 TFLs in nine games during the regular season before getting injured. He would be a significant addition to the Eagles D-line if he’s able to return at anything close to full speed.
After the NFC Championship Game, the injury that was top-of-mind for most Philadelphia fans would have been center Cam Jurgens (back), who missed both the Wild Card and Divisional Rounds before playing just 13% of snaps in the Conference Championship because his replacement, Landon Dickerson, was also banged up (knee). Jurgens has been a full participant in every Eagles’ practice this week, though, as has Dickerson, which will come as a massive relief for a team that relies so heavily on a big push from its offensive line.
Patrick Mahomes Is a Full Go
It was something of a surprise to see Mahomes listed on the initial injury reports this week with the same ankle injury he’s been battling since Week 14. It was a surprise because using the word “battling” is an overstatement based on what we’ve seen on the field. After a relatively pedestrian regular season, Mahomes has been electric in the playoffs, as he so often has been during his storied six-year career. That was especially true in the AFC title game against Buffalo, when Mahomes threw for 245 yards and a TD on 18-of-26 passing while also rushing the ball 11 times for 43 yards and two more majors.
Anyone watching the win over the Bills would have been stunned to hear Mahomes’ ankle was anything less than 100%.
He didn’t appear to taken any notable hits to the ankle during the game, either, and now he’s had two weeks for it to heal up even more.
The fact that Mahomes has been on the injury report shouldn’t factor into anyone’s handicapping of this game.
The only KC player who is in danger of missing Super Bowl 59 is seldom used receiver Skyy Moore, who has more highlight reel drops than noticeable receptions. Moore, who has been on IR since late October, had just three targets (zero catches) in six games this season before getting injured. Moore is officially listed as doubtful and his absence may be more of a relief than a worry to Chiefs’ fans.

As Super Bowl 59 approaches, fans of both the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are eagerly awaiting the latest injury updates on key players. In a game of this magnitude, the health and availability of star athletes can greatly impact the outcome.
For the Chiefs, all eyes are on quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes suffered a toe injury in the AFC Championship game but has been practicing in a limited capacity leading up to the Super Bowl. The team is optimistic that he will be able to play at full strength on game day. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill is also dealing with a hamstring issue, but he too is expected to suit up for the big game.
On the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Willie Gay Jr. is nursing a knee injury that has kept him out of practice. His status for the Super Bowl remains uncertain, but the Chiefs are hopeful that he will be able to recover in time to contribute to the team’s efforts against the Eagles.
As for the Eagles, running back Miles Sanders is dealing with an ankle injury that has limited his participation in practice. The team is closely monitoring his progress and will make a game-time decision on his availability for Super Bowl 59. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith is also nursing a shoulder injury, but he is expected to play through the pain and be a key target for quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Defensively, cornerback Darius Slay is battling a hamstring injury that has kept him out of practice. His status for the Super Bowl is up in the air, but the Eagles are hopeful that he will be able to recover in time to help shut down Mahomes and the Chiefs’ high-powered offense.
Injuries are an unfortunate but inevitable part of football, and both teams will need to adjust and adapt to any setbacks they may face leading up to Super Bowl 59. Fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on these key players as game day approaches, hoping for a clean bill of health for all involved.
