  • The Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat meet in the 2024 Summer League final on Monday night
  • Both narrowly defeated undefeated teams in yesterday’s semifinals
  • Below, see the Memphis Grizzlies vs Miami Heat odds, predictions, and picks for July 22

The Memphis Grizzlies (6-2) will meet the Miami Heat (7-1) in the 2024 NBA Summer League final on Monday night at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas (5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET).

Both teams are a perfect 5-0 in the Vegas portion of Summer League play, and Miami has won seven straight dating back to the California Classic in early July, but Memphis is given the edge in Monday’s Grizzlies vs Heat odds.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Miami Heat Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Memphis Grizzlies -2.5 (-110) -140 O 186.5 (-110)
Miami Heat +2.5 (-110) +120 U 186.5 (-110)

The Grizzlies are listed as 2.5-point favorites and -140 on the moneyline to win straight-up. The Heat are +120 neutral-court underdogs to win their eighth straight game of Summer League play.

The game total is sitting at an inflated 186.5. Bettors need to remember that Summer League games are only 40 minutes (four ten-minute quarters) so a 186.5 total is equivalent to a 223.5 total for a 48-minute game.

Memphis eked out a 99-98 win over the Clippers, led by 28 points from Jaylen Wells, the #39 pick in the 2024 draft, and 23 from Scotty Pippen Jr.

The Heat game back from ten-point second-half deficit to beat the Warriors 102-99. Josh Christopher had a team-high 23 points on 7-of-15 shooting while Pelle Larsson added 21 on 6-of-13. Miami won despite a 31-47 deficit on the glass.

Grizz Taking Summer League Seriously

Purely a time of assessment and development for most teams, the struggling Grizzlies appear to be gunning for a Summer League championship. Four of their starting five played significant minutes in the NBA last year, including guards GG Jackson II (14.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG in 48 games) and Scotty Pippen Jr (12.9 PPG, 4.7 AGP in 21 games).

With 6’10 center Trey Jemison (7.4 PPG, 5.8 RPG) and win Dejon Jarreau (4.8 PPG, 4.9 RPG) also in the mix, Memphis’ lineup is extremely strong in the backcourt and frontcourt, at least by Summer League standards.

Summer League coach Jason March rode his starters hard last night, as well. All five played at least 27 minutes and only one player off the bench logged more than eight (Isaiah Miller).

Heat Win Seventh in a Row to Reach Summer League Final

Miami’s 102-99 win last night was the team’s seventh straight victory following a 39-point loss to Golden State in its Summer League opener. Like Memphis, Heat coach Dan Bisaccio didn’t go deep into his bench in yesterday’s semifinals. Every member of his seven-man rotation played at least 20 minutes and no one else played more than four.

In truth, Miami was somewhat lucky to escape with a 102-99 win over the Warriors in last night’s rematch. They grailed by five heading into the fourth quarter, finished the game -16 in rebounding, and shot just 45.5% from the floor (31% from three). But Golden State committed 15 turnovers (to just eight for Miami) and went just 23.5% from three.

Grizzlies vs Heat Predictions & Picks

Fatigue could be a factor on Monday with the starters logging such heavy minutes last night, but these are also 40-minute games with young legs. Also it should be an equal factor for both teams.

On the whole, Memphis is fielding a better lineup and G-League coach Jason March really seems to want a Summer League championship on his resume.

I expect Memphis’ talent to win out and cover.

MEM vs MIA picks: Grizzlies -2.5 (-110)
