  • Seattle has yet to lose this year, while Detroit has hit three straight unders
  • Below, see a three-leg, +390 Seahawks vs Lions same-game parlay for Monday Night Football

Two legitimate NFC contenders lock horns on Monday Night Football in Week 4 as the Detroit Lions (2-1, 1-1 home) host the Seattle Seahawks (3-0, 1-0 away) at Ford Field. Seattle vs Detroit will kickoff at 8:15 pm ET, 45 minutes after the Titans and Dolphins start the Week 4 MNF doubleheader.

I already wrote in the Seahawks vs Lions player props that I’m expecting another solid day from the Detroit defense, and today’s Seahawks vs Lions same-game parlay plays on that theme. I’m targeting a pair of unders, plus a modest over from Detroit’s lead back.

SEA vs DET Same-Game Parlay Pick #1: Under 47.5 Points

The first leg of the SGP is under 47.5 points at -128. Detroit is 0-3 O/U in the 2024 NFL over under trends (after finishing with an NFL-high 13 overs last season, including playoffs). Seattle is 2-1 O/U but has yet to exceed 46 points. Seahawk games are averaging just 38.7 PPG, which includes a 23-20 OT affair with the Patriots in Week 2.

A big part of the reason why Detroit has hit three straight unders is its run game. The Lions have churned out 326 rushing yards over the past two weeks, controlling the ball for 70:44 in the last 120 minutes (eight quarters).

Seattle’s defense has been much more vulnerable against the run this season than against the pass: second in passing yards/game vs 15th in rushing yards/game). Some of that is attributable to facing horrendous passing offenses (Broncos, Patriots, and Dolphins sans Tua Tagovailoa) but those one-dimensional attacks still managed to average 116.3 rushing yards per game against the Seahawks, despite no semblance of a deep threat.

With Detroit’s ground game controlling the proceedings again, expect relatively few possessions and a modest total.

Seahawks vs Lions SGP Pick #2: David Montgomery Over 59.5 Rush+Rec Yards

Going hand-in-hand with that under 47.5 pick is Detroit RB1 David Montgomery to combine for at least 60 yards on the ground and through the air. This is a miniscule number for Montgomery, who’s averaging 95 all-purpose yards per game in 2024 and has hit at least 70 in all three outings to date.

In Week 2 last season, Montgomery had 74 yards in a 37-31 OT loss to Seattle (67 on the ground at 4.2 YPC). Averaging 19.7 touches per game – with a perfect eight catches on eight targets in the passing game – Montgomery should get over 59.5 yards with ease.

SEA vs DET Same-Game Parlay Pick #3: Kenneth Walker Under 54.5 Rushing Yards

The final leg of today’s Seahawks/Lions SGP is Seattle running back Kenneth Walker to stay under 54.5 rushing yards. I love this pick for two reasons. First, Detroit has been the third-best team in the NFL this year at defending the run, conceding a paltry 76.7 YPG. That continues a trend from last season when they finished second in rush defense (88.8 YPG).

Second, Walker is just returning from a Week 1 oblique injury that kept him out of Weeks 2 and 3. Zach Charbonnet filled in decently while Walker was out, totalling 129 rushing yards and three touchdowns in wins over Seattle and Arizona.

Charbonnet figures to remain a sizable part of the offense tonight as the Seahawks work Walker back into the mix. At 3-0 on the season, Seattle has the luxury of easing their bell-cow back into action. The last thing they want is for Walker to suffer another injury setback that jeopardizes his season as a whole.

The Seattle Seahawks will face off against the Detroit Lions on September 30th in what is sure to be an exciting matchup. Both teams are coming off of wins in their previous games and will be looking to continue their success in this game.

The Seahawks are currently sitting at 1-2 on the season, with their lone win coming against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4. Quarterback Russell Wilson has been playing at a high level, throwing for over 1,000 yards and 9 touchdowns so far this season. The Seahawks offense has been clicking on all cylinders, with wide receivers Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf providing Wilson with reliable targets downfield.

On the other side of the ball, the Seahawks defense has been solid, holding opponents to an average of 23 points per game. Linebacker Bobby Wagner leads the team in tackles and has been a force in stopping the run game.

The Detroit Lions are currently sitting at 0-3 on the season, but have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks. Quarterback Jared Goff has been efficient, throwing for over 800 yards and 5 touchdowns so far this season. Wide receiver Tyrell Williams has been a bright spot for the Lions offense, leading the team in receiving yards.

Defensively, the Lions have struggled, allowing an average of 32 points per game. They will need to step up their game against the high-powered Seahawks offense if they want to come out on top in this matchup.

When it comes to betting on this game, a same-game parlay could be a lucrative option. A same-game parlay allows bettors to combine multiple bets into one, increasing the potential payout. For this matchup, a same-game parlay could include bets on the Seahawks to win, Russell Wilson to throw for over 300 yards, and Tyler Lockett to score a touchdown.

Overall, this matchup between the Seahawks and Lions is sure to be a thrilling game with plenty of scoring opportunities. Whether you’re a fan of either team or just looking to place a bet, this game is one to keep an eye on.
