Week 7 of the 2024 college football season features several games with ATS betting value, including an intriguing Friday night matchup and two Saturday games with upset potential. We’ve collected our three top CFB picks against the spread to help you make money this weekend.

Among our top college football picks against the spread this weekend is a play on the Northwestern Wildcats as they aim to cover a double-digit spread against Maryland. We’re also backing two home underdogs on Saturday that offer value to stay within the number.

Let’s dive into our top college football picks against the spread for Week 7 (Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th).

Northwestern vs Maryland Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Northwestern +10.5 (-110) +320 Over 45 (-110)
Maryland -10.5 (-110) -410 Under 45 (-110)

Pick #1: Northwestern (+10.5) vs Maryland

My first addition to my Week 7 college football picks against the spread is a play on the Northwestern Wildcats in a Friday night game against the Maryland Terrapins. Northwestern is catching 10.5 points, which is too many given the history in this rivalry.

The Wildcats have won three of the last four meetings against Maryland, including a 33-27 victory last season. In that contest, Wildcats’ pivot Brendan Sullivan threw for 274 yards and two TDs, while the NWU defense held the Terrapins offense to under 400 yards.

Northwestern’s offense has shown signs of improvement recently, scoring 21 points against a stingy Indiana defense in Week 6. Quarterback Brendan Lausch should be able to exploit a vulnerable Maryland pass defense that ranks 91st in explosive pass rate allowed and 100th in coverage grade.

Northwestern will have a hard time defending Maryland’s explosive passing attack led by quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. and star receiver Tai Felton. However, Felton, along with fellow WR Kaden Prather, are both questionable due to injuries.

This game total is one of the lowest on the board in Week 7, which indicates oddsmakers project a low-possession and low-scoring game. Considering the Wildcats have covered in four straight vs the Terrapins, I’m backing them on Friday Night College Football.

  • Pick: Northwestern +10.5 (-110)

Clemson vs Wake Forest Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Clemson -20 (-110) -1350 Over 55 (-110)
Wake Forest +20 (-110) +800 Under 55 (-110)

Pick #2: Wake Forest (+20) vs Clemson

I’m continuing my Week 7 college football picks against the spread with a play on Wake Forest in their Saturday showdown with Clemson. The Tigers haven’t covered the spread in two road games this season, and I don’t envision things changing in Week 7.

These two teams have played some close games lately, including in 2022 when Clemson prevailed 51-45 in double overtime. Last season, the Tigers etched out a five-point victory at home. They aren’t exactly blowing out the Demon Deacons lately.

Wake Forest’s offense is rolling this season, with QB Hank Bachmeier completing 63.6% of his passes for 1,313 yards and seven TDs with two picks. I expect him to be able to move the ball on a Clemson defense that is yet to be truly tested.

Something special happens when the Deacons play at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium in NC, especially in October. They’ve covered the number in 8 of their last 10 home games in October, and I predict they will provide another scare for the Tigers.

  • Pick: Wake Forest +20 (-110)

Hawaii vs Boise State Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Boise State -20.5 (-110) -1350 Over 60.5 (-110)
Hawaii +20.5 (-110) +800 Under 60.5 (-110)

Pick #3: Hawaii (+20.5) vs Boise State

Another team I’m targeting on Saturday is Hawaii in their late-night clash with Boise State. This is another home underdog I believe is being undervalued in the Week 7 CFB odds. The sharps appear to agree, with the line already moving from +21.5 to +20.5.

Hawaii has historically played Boise State tough at home, including their last meeting in Honolulu in 2020. The Broncos only won by 8 as 13.5-point favorites. Hawaii’s defense tends to rise to the occasion at home, with the under cashing in nine of their past 11 games at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.

Hawaii’s passing attack ranks top-40 nationally and should pose problems for a Boise State secondary that gave up nearly 400 yards to Spencer Petras and Utah State last weekend. UH QB Brayden Schager is one of the most experienced pivots in CFB and has thrown 11 TDs already this season.

Hawaii’s biggest challenge will be shutting down Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, who recently became the Heisman odds favorite. However, the Rainbow Warriors have the Mountain West’s second-best rush defense and are much more vulnerable through the air.

  • Pick: Hawaii +20.5 (-110)

Brady’s 2024 CFB ATS Picks Record: 16-5

Week 7 of college football is upon us, and with it comes a slate of exciting matchups that are sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats. As the season progresses, teams are starting to separate themselves from the pack and stake their claim as contenders for the College Football Playoff. With point spreads being a popular way to gauge the potential outcome of games, let’s take a look at some predictions for Week 7 college football games with point spreads.

One of the most anticipated matchups of the week is the showdown between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Kentucky Wildcats. Georgia comes into this game as heavy favorites, with a point spread of -21.5. The Bulldogs have been dominant all season, boasting a stifling defense and a potent offense led by quarterback JT Daniels. Kentucky, on the other hand, has been a surprise team this year, but they will have their hands full trying to keep up with Georgia’s high-powered attack. Look for the Bulldogs to cover the spread and come away with a convincing win.

Another intriguing matchup in Week 7 is the clash between the Oklahoma Sooners and the TCU Horned Frogs. Oklahoma is favored by -13.5 points in this game, as they look to bounce back from a tough loss to Texas last week. The Sooners boast one of the most explosive offenses in the country, led by quarterback Spencer Rattler. TCU, on the other hand, has been inconsistent this season but has shown flashes of potential. While TCU may put up a fight, expect Oklahoma to cover the spread and come away with a comfortable victory.

In a battle of undefeated teams, the Michigan Wolverines take on the Michigan State Spartans in what promises to be a hard-fought contest. Michigan is favored by -4 points in this matchup, as they look to continue their impressive start to the season. The Wolverines have been dominant on both sides of the ball, while Michigan State has relied on a strong running game to carry them to victory. This game has all the makings of a close affair, but expect Michigan to cover the spread and remain unbeaten.

Overall, Week 7 of college football is shaping up to be an exciting one, with several marquee matchups that are sure to have playoff implications. As teams jockey for position in the rankings, keep an eye on these games and how they unfold against the point spreads. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just a casual observer, there’s no denying the excitement and drama that college football brings each and every week.
