Predictions for NFL Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bets in Week 5

Without a doubt, the most popular NFL prop among the public bettors are NFL TD props. But one of the troubles in betting them is that there are a lot of games and players to sort through on Sunday of each week. I have done the work to go through them all, though, and am happy to share to NFL TD scorer picks I like best for Week 5 in the NFL.

I went 4-4 on my anytime TD picks last week, winning 0.56 units off of half-unit bets (outside of Zack Moss, who was my first full-unit bet of the season). I’m now +1.28 units on the season and looking to keep the winning going. As usual, I am sticking to NFL anytime TD scorers, as I feel the first TD scorer prop is too volatile.

I am betting another eight players to score a touchdown in Week 5. You can see those picks in the table below, as well as some brief justification for each that follows.

Best NFL TD Scorer Picks for Week 5

I am betting a half-unit on each of the eight players above, except for Derrick Henry, who is a full-unit bet. I might add a couple more plays on Sunday when we see some updates to certain player’s statuses. You can follow me on Twitter/X to catch any of those added TD picks.

Bijan Robinson

Admittedly, I was a little torn on which Atlanta running back I wanted to put my money on to score a touchdown in their Week 5 TNF matchup with the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is allowing 5.0 YPC this season and have given up seven rushing touchdowns. So, I want to target a Falcon RB, but Bijan Robinson’s slow start and diminishing touches has me a little concerned.

Robinson only saw 11 touches in Atlanta’s Week 4 win over the Saints, and was on the field for a season-low 64% of their offensive snaps. Tyler Allgeier saw his most offensive snaps last week (38%) and was very effective with his ten touches, turning them into 80 yards.

In spite of all that, I am going to back Robinson to score a touchdown this week. We now know the RB was dealing with a hamstring injury last week, but he has been cleared to go with no limitations. Robinson is also pretty active in the passing game, which makes me feel even better about this bet, considering I do like Tampa Bay to put up some points tonight.

• Pick: Bijan Robinson Anytime TD (-125 at bet365)

Justin Jefferson

I love it when the Vikings come up against one of the league’s top corners, because we see longer odds on Justin Jefferson to score a touchdown. I love this because I do not think there’s a corner who can truly lock Jefferson down, especially with Kevin O’Connell’s creativity to line his start receiver up all over the field – he has taken 36% of his snaps from the slot, 33% from the left WR spot, and 29% from the right WR spot. We are seeing this in Week 4, as Minnesota takes on Sauce Gardner and the New York Jets. So, I am going to take advantage of the opportunity! (Especially since we haven’t seen Gardner play in the slot much this season.)

Jefferson has scored a touchdown in each of Minnesota’s first four games and has seen eight targets in each of the last two games, in spite of Minnesota playing with a positive game script very early on in both contests. Sam Darnold has proven he can get the ball into the hands of his playmakers, no matter where they are on the field.

I think Jefferson’s anytime TD odds should be closer to -150 in just about every game.

• Pick: Justin Jefferson Anytime TD (+105 at bet365)

Jayden Daniels

No rookie QB has been nearly as impressive as Jayden Daniels to this point, which is why he is the new favorite in NFL OROY odds. The second-overall pick has been a weapon with both his arm and legs, posting a 107.4 passer rating and adding an average of 54.5 rushing yards per game. He has also been finding the endzone pretty frequently, scoring four rushing touchdowns through the first four games, but two of them did come in one game – meaning he did not score a touchdown in one of four games.

Daniels now sees a once great Browns defense that looks like a shell of its former self this season. Cleveland is allowing 4.6 YPC this season, and just let the Raiders, who were absolutely terrible running the ball in their first three games, rush for 152 yards against them. I think we see both Jayden Daniels and Brian Robinson score in this one, but like the slightly longer odds with Daniels.

• Pick: Jayden Daniels Anytime TD (+135 at FanDuel)

Derrick Henry

We have seen Derrick Henry score at least one touchdown in each of Baltimore’s first four games this season, and he has two in each of the last two games. In spite of John Harbaugh’s post-Week 1 comments about the team not intending to give Henry 30 carries per game, his usage has increased each week. Henry has seen 13, 19, 26, and 27 touches, respectively.

I’m not going to say we see Henry’s usage increase again this week, but I don’t think it needs to in order for him to score a touchdown. What will be important is Henry continuing to be the goal line guy for the Ravens’ offense. Baltimore has run nine plays inside the five-yard-line this season, and eight of them have been Henry rushing attempts. The lone pass also went to Henry.

The Ravens meet the Bengals, who are allowing 4.4 YPC and have given up five rushing touchdowns this season, in Week 5. Up against a divisional rival, I think Baltimore leans on Henry to set the tone for the game. He’s as short as -225 to score a touchdown at bet365, but I was able to find him at -165 at FanDuel.

• Pick: Derrick Henry Anytime TD (-165 at FanDuel)

Stefon Diggs

Though my revenge pick from last week didn’t work out, I’m taking another one this week with Stefon Diggs, who meets his former team, the Buffalo Bills, for the first time. I appreciate why many people might look to Cam Akers in this game, since the Bills allow 5.7 YPC (last in the league), but the Texans don’t run the ball that well and we haven’t really seen Akers get that many touches with Joe Mixon out of the lineup.

We actually saw Diggs run in a touchdown last week, which was his first TD since scoring two in Week 1. Though Diggs has not been lighting up the stat sheet, he is still seeing a good amount of targets. CJ Stroud has targeted Diggs 21 times over the last two games.

In a game where I suspect plenty of scoring, especially after both of these offenses struggled a bit last week, I like the Texans to do what they can to get Diggs a touchdown – not to mention, I think Diggs will be giving a little more than usual in this game.

• Pick: Stefon Diggs Anytime TD (+190 at Caesars)

Dontayvion Wicks

With Christian Watson likely to miss the Packers’ Week 5 matchup with the Rams, I think we see Dontayvion Wicks explode. The 23-year-old hasn’t been on the field a ton this season due to Green Bay’s excellent depth at the WR position. But when Christian Watson went down with an injury last week, Wicks went on to play 76% of the Packers’ offensive snaps, and turned in five catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

In spite of dropping some balls this season, head coach Matt LaFleur has continued to express confidence in Wicks. Jordan Love obviously has confidence in him as well, as he peppered Wicks with 13 targets against the Vikings last week.

Wicks gets an excellent matchup against a Rams defense that’s giving up the most net yards per pass attempt, and have also allowed the second-most points in the NFL. I think we see many Packers score a touchdown in Week 5, with Wicks being one of them.

• Pick: Dontayvion Wicks Anytime TD (+210 at bet365)

Justin Fields

We have seen Justin Fields rush for three touchdowns over his last two games, and he now gets a Dallas defense that has given up eight touchdowns on the ground this year and allowed an average of 4.6 YPC. That yards per carry number was a lot worse prior to the Cowboys’ Week 4 matchup with the Giants. Knowing the Giants, I am not ready to believe Dallas has resolved anything defensively, and am actually putting the blame for the embarrassing 26 rushing yards on New York.

Even if Dallas did fix anything, I don’t like their chances of replicating it without Micah Parsons, who sounds very likely to miss this game due to an injury suffered last week.

Fields is the guy Pittsburgh leans on down at the goal line, as Najee Harris has been rather ineffective carrying the ball. Harris is only averaging 3.4 yards per carry, and his two rushing attempts inside the five-yard-line have combined for 0 yards. Fields has attempted three passes inside the five, but only completed one of them. However, he has five carries inside the five and three of them have gone for touchdowns.

I expect Pittsburgh to be able to move the ball against a lousy Dallas defense, and to rely on Fields’ legs once they get within striking distance.

• Pick: Justin Fields Anytime TD (+165 at DraftKings)

Kareem Hunt

In his first game back with the Chiefs, we saw Kareem Hunt take over the backfield. Hunt was given 14 of the 21 running back carries. Carson Steele was not given a carry after the first quarter, and Samaje Perine only had two carries in the second half – one of which did go for a two-yard touchdown. With another week to get comfortable, I think we see Hunt dominate the running back touches even further.

The Chiefs take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 5 and will have to do so without star wide receiver Rashee Rice. Though Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes have expressed confidence in Justin Watson, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Xavier Worthy, and (of course) Travis Kelce to step up in Rice’s absence, I think we see Kansas City lean more on their ground game.

Against a Saints team who is allowing 4.8 yards per carry, I think we see Hunt not only have a big game but also score his first touchdown of the season.

• Pick: Kareem Hunt Anytime TD (+135 at DraftKings)

As we head into Week 5 of the NFL season, there are plenty of exciting matchups on the schedule that could provide some great opportunities for anytime touchdown scorer bets. With so many talented players on the field each week, it can be tough to predict who will find the end zone, but here are a few predictions to consider for this upcoming week.

One player to keep an eye on is Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce has been a favorite target of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and has already found the end zone multiple times this season. With the Chiefs facing off against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5, Kelce could be in for another big game and is a solid bet to score a touchdown.

Another player to consider is Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones. Jones has been a key part of the Packers’ offense this season and has shown a knack for finding the end zone. With the Packers taking on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5, Jones could have a big game and is a good bet to score a touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey is always a threat to score a touchdown. Ramsey is known for his playmaking ability and has a knack for coming up with big plays when his team needs them most. With the Rams facing off against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5, Ramsey could come up with a big interception or fumble recovery that leads to a touchdown.

Of course, these are just a few predictions to consider for anytime touchdown scorer bets in Week 5. With so many talented players taking the field each week, there are plenty of opportunities to cash in on some big bets.
