Fresh off one of the most dramatic wins of the season, Michigan State (23-5, 18-9-1 ATS) hosts Wisconsin (22-6, 18-9-1 ATS) on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET at the Breslin Center.
The Spartans stunned Maryland with a buzzer-beating 50-footer by Tre Holloman to win 58-55 for their fourth win in a row.
If Michigan State wins out, they win the Big 10. Wisconsin sits alone in third place, two games back.
We’ve got your back for this Big 10 battle Sunday in East Lansing with a look at the best odds, and our prediction.

Michigan State is set up as favored by a couple of baskets Sunday. Wisconsin, however, has won the last two meetings and covered the spread easily each time. Three of the last five meetings tipped the under.
The Spartans have won their last four games against the spread, including three when they were underdogs straight up. The Spartans are 9-19 over under. Their last five games have all gone low.
Wisconsin brings a different profile to the table. The Badgers are 6-1 in their last seven games against the spread and 17-11 over/under. Three of their last four games have tipped the over.
Wisconsin vs Michigan State Prediction
You know what we get from the Big 10 this time of year, low-scoring defensive battles. I think I like Michigan State on the moneyline, but I feel safer taking Wisconsin and the points.
Wisconsin doesn’t turn the ball over. They rank last in turnovers in the conference and guard John Tonje shoots 38 percent from deep and has scored in double figures in his last 10 games. Wisconsin’s ability to score some easy baskets is what I like here.
Wisconsin vs Michigan State Pick
- Wisconsin +4.5 at FanDuel
- Under 145.5 at FanDuel
Michigan State’s Amazing Trey
It was the shot of the college basketball season, at least up until this point. Michigan State rebounded a long miss by Maryland and Tre Holloman found himself with the ball on the opposite side of the Maryland center court logo. He let it fly. Swish.
Holloman is only shooting 33 percent from three this season and had been bounced in the starting lineup by star freshman Jase Richardson, but his basket elevated the Spartans to No. 1 in the Big 10, at least for now.
I don’t know where Tom Izzo finds these guards every year, but they all seem like clones. They play ferocious defense and have a way of making tough shots. This year, senior Jaden Akins (who has actually played all four years with Michigan State) is that guy. He leads State with 12.7 points a game.
Wisconsin Betting Trends
Wisconsin enters Sunday’s game just 5-4 on the road. The Breslin Center is not a fun place to be for road teams. Tonje is Wisconsin’s lead scoring threat, followed by sophomore John Blackwell who averages 15 points a game.
The Badgers play the pace and space game. They lead the Big 10 in three-point attempts at just under 11 a game and they make them. They are first in the Big 10 at 38 percent from three. It’s quite a contrast from Michigan State who is last in the Big 10 in shooting the three.
Looking for an X factor? 6-11 Wisconsin forward Nolan Winter and 7-footer Steven Crowl give the Badgers a slight height advantage inside.

The highly anticipated matchup between the Wisconsin Badgers and the Michigan State Spartans is set to take place on Sunday, March 2nd. Both teams are coming off strong performances in their previous games and are looking to secure a crucial win as they head into the final stretch of the regular season.
The Wisconsin Badgers have been on a hot streak as of late, winning four of their last five games. They are currently ranked 21st in the nation and have proven themselves to be a formidable opponent on both ends of the court. Led by senior forward Ethan Happ, who is averaging a double-double this season with 17.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, the Badgers have the talent and experience to compete with any team in the country.
On the other hand, the Michigan State Spartans are currently ranked 11th in the nation and are coming off a dominant victory over Rutgers in their last game. Led by junior guard Cassius Winston, who is averaging 18.9 points and 7.4 assists per game, the Spartans have one of the most potent offenses in the country. They also boast a strong defense, holding opponents to just 37.6% shooting from the field.
In terms of prediction, this game is expected to be a close and competitive matchup between two evenly matched teams. Both Wisconsin and Michigan State have proven themselves to be capable of beating top-ranked opponents, so it could come down to which team executes better on both ends of the court.
As for the pick, it’s a tough call but I would give a slight edge to Michigan State in this game. The Spartans have been playing at a high level recently and have the home-court advantage, which could give them the edge they need to come out on top.
In terms of odds, Michigan State is currently favored to win this game by 4.5 points according to most sportsbooks. The over/under for total points scored in this game is set at 134.5 points, indicating that it could be a low-scoring affair.
Overall, this game between Wisconsin and Michigan State is shaping up to be an exciting and closely contested matchup. Both teams have the talent and experience to come out on top, so it will ultimately come down to which team can execute their game plan better on Sunday. Fans can expect a thrilling game with plenty of action on both ends of the court.
