- Fourth-seed Arizona State (11-2) will mess with fifth-seeded Texas (12-2) in the college football playoff quarterfinal in the Chick Fil A Peach Bowl Jan. 1.
- After running all over Clemson in the first round Saturday, the Longhorns have been established as almost a two-touchdown favorite.

Led by exuberant young coach Kenny Dillingham and star running back Cam Skattebo, Arizona State (11-2; 10-2 ATS) will take on Texas (12-2, 9-5 ATS) in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl college football quarterfinal Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. on ESPN.
The two teams have only played one other time, in the 2007 Holiday Bowl, won by Texas.
There’s plenty of star power in this one, with Skattebo finishing fifth in the Heisman voting and the Texas two-step quarterback tandem of Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning.

Texas has been favored in every game it has played this season. The Longhorns are just 2-3 against the spread in their last five games. They are 5-4 this season as double-digit favorites.
Before Saturday’s win over Clemson, the last four Texas games had all hit the under. The Longhorns entered Saturday just 4-7-1 over/under.
Arizona State has been one of the best bets against the spread in all of college football. They have won six in a row against the spread. They went 4-2 as underdogs this season. The Sun Devils have gone 7-4-1 over/under this season.

Forks Up
Arizona State has been one of the best stories in college football, but then again, so were Indiana and SMU and that didn’t turn out so well in the college football playoffs so far.
Sun Devils quarterback Sam Leavitt threw for 2,663 yards and 24 touchdowns, and the offense ranked 30th in the nation in points per game at 33.1.
But this offense really revolves around Skattebo. The senior burst on the scene with 1,568 yards, fifth in the nation (he also missed one game) and has run for over 140 yards in each of his last three.
Defensively, Arizona State is much better than maybe you think. They had the second-best defense against the run in the Big 12. They’ve held two of their last three opponents to under 100 yards on the ground and are led by a pair of stellar defensive backs in Myles Rowser and Xavion Alford.
TEXAS WITH A GOAL LINE STAND!

The Texas Rundown
Going into the CFP first-round game with Clemson, one of the big storylines was the status of Texas star offensive lineman Kevin Banks Jr. who missed the SEC title game. People usually overlook offensive linemen, but Banks Jr. played and was dominating as the Longhorns ran wild against the Tigers.
Texas QB Quinn Ewers continues to make plays when it counts, even if he’s not always the smoothest. Superstar name/quarterback Arch Manning has become the Tebow-style QB for the Longhorns used down at the goal line. That, uh, probably won’t be his NFL future.
Defensively, the Texas secondary made a bunch of mistakes against Clemson. The defensive line is big and active and had a huge goal line stand in the fourth quarter. Cornerback Jahdae Barron was a first-team All-SEC pick with five interceptions.

The Peach Bowl College Football Playoff (CFP) quarterfinal matchup between the Texas Longhorns and the Arizona State Sun Devils is set to be a highly anticipated game. Both teams have had successful seasons and will be looking to secure a spot in the CFP semifinals.
Opening odds and spread for this game have been released, with Texas being favored by 6.5 points. This means that if you bet on Texas to win, they would need to win by at least 7 points in order for you to win your bet. On the other hand, if you bet on Arizona State, they would need to either win the game outright or lose by less than 7 points for you to win your bet.
Both teams have had strong performances throughout the season, with Texas boasting a high-powered offense led by quarterback Sam Ehlinger and a solid defense. Arizona State, on the other hand, has been led by quarterback Jayden Daniels and a strong running game.
The key to this game will likely be which team can control the line of scrimmage and establish their running game. Texas will look to establish their passing attack early and often, while Arizona State will likely rely on their ground game to move the ball down the field.
Overall, this is shaping up to be an exciting matchup between two evenly matched teams. The opening odds and spread suggest that Texas is the favorite, but anything can happen in college football. Fans can expect a competitive and thrilling game when these two teams face off in the Peach Bowl CFP quarterfinal.
