As we head to San Antonio for the Final Four, the March Madness Most Outstanding Player odds look eerily similar to this time last week. Duke’s Cooper Flagg is a sizeable favorite, followed by Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr.
March Madness Most Outstanding Player Odds
Flagg’s price has been shortened from +250 last week to +120. The favorite in the NBA Draft odds has lived up to the hype all tournament long, while there’s no doubt that the Blue Devils have been the most impressive team. Clayton Jr.’s price tag has moved from +600 to +350, thanks to an incredible Elite Eight performance. The Senior guard poured in 30 points versus Texas Tech on Sunday, helping Florida to a 10th straight win.

Flagg Still the Favorite
Back to Flagg, who’s been a stat stuffer all Tournament long. He’s averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists so far, propelling Duke to a +105 favorite in the March Madness Championship odds. Flagg is shooting 45% from the field and 43% from three, chipping in two blocks at the defensive end as well.
His versatility has been on full display, with no greater example than the Sweet 16 win over Arizona. Flagg sent the Blue Devils fans into a frenzy with a highlight reel dunk and 3-ball from the logo at one end, before swatting a block into the second row at the other.
He finished up that contest with 30 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds, cementing his status as the best player in the nation. If Duke wins its first National title since 2015, Flagg is a lock to win Most Outstanding Player. But what happens if you don’t believe the Blue Devils will cut down the Nets in San Antonio? Then you have to look at Clayton Jr., who single handedly carried the Gators into the Final Four.
Walter Clayton Jr the Second Favorite
Flagg is surrounded by future first round picks, any one of which can take over a game. Clayton Jr. doesn’t have that luxury. This Florida team is incredibly deep, but when it comes time to get a bucket all eyes focus on Clayton Jr.
The senior scored 13 of his game-high 30 points against the Red Raiders in the final 5 minutes of play, erasing a 10-point deficit. He splashed back-to-back triples to finally give the Gators back the lead, and then iced the game at the free throw line.
Clayton Jr. is in the midst of an incredible stretch of ball. Dating back to the SEC Tournament semifinal, he’s scored at least 22 points in five of six games. He’s shooting 46% from the field during March Madness, and 45% from three. Clayton Jr.’s been money from the line, knocking down 89% of his freebies, and even chipped in a pair of blocks versus Texas Tech.
March Madness Tournament MVP Prediction
Also in serious consideration for this award is Auburn’s Johni Broome at +400. The big man did his best Paul Pierce impression in Sunday’s Elite Eight win over Michigan State, returning from injury to help the Tigers seal a win.
Broome led all players with 25 points in only 29 minutes of play. It was his second consecutive 20+ point performance, after a quiet opening weekend. Broome has three double-doubles through four games, but I just don’t expect Auburn to be around long enough for him to contend for this award.
The Tigers draw Florida in the Final Four, who have been as hot as any team in the nation. The Gators have lost once since February 1st, and took down Auburn in their lone meeting this season. Florida is currently a 2.5-point favorite versus the Tigers, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that number moved further in the Gators favor.
I circled Florida as the winner in my March Madness bracket, and the only way that happens is if Clayton Jr. continues his incredible play. My pick is that he puts on his superhero cape and leads Florida to two more victories, stealing Most Outstanding Player honors away from Flagg.

As March Madness approaches, basketball fans are eagerly anticipating the Final Four matchups and speculating on who will be named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. With so many talented players competing, the odds for this prestigious award are constantly changing.
One player who is currently a favorite to win the Most Outstanding Player award is Gonzaga’s star point guard Jalen Suggs. Suggs has been a standout performer throughout the tournament, showcasing his scoring ability, playmaking skills, and leadership on the court. With Gonzaga being one of the top teams in the tournament, Suggs has a strong chance of taking home the award if he continues to perform at a high level.
Another player to keep an eye on is Baylor’s Jared Butler. Butler has been a key player for the Bears, leading them to the Final Four with his scoring prowess and defensive tenacity. If Baylor can make a deep run in the tournament, Butler could solidify his case for the Most Outstanding Player award.
Other players who are in contention for the award include Houston’s Quentin Grimes, UCLA’s Johnny Juzang, and Michigan’s Hunter Dickinson. Each of these players has had standout performances in the tournament and could make a strong case for being named the Most Outstanding Player.
As the Final Four games approach, the odds for the Most Outstanding Player award will continue to shift based on player performances and team success. Basketball fans will be eagerly watching to see which player rises to the occasion and earns this prestigious honor.
