A new season of NFL has finally arrived, with defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC Championship game rematch. Heading into the contest, both teams don’t have many injury question marks as they begin their quest to win Super Bowl LIX.
The NFL odds are pointing towards Kansas City being favored by a field goal. The Ravens vs Chiefs odds show that it won’t be easy, with Baltimore winning a league-best 13 games last season. They’ve also taken seven of their last eight season debuts.
For the Chiefs, the only player ruled out is wide receiver Hollywood Brown (shoulder); otherwise, they have a clean bill of health. Their counterparts won’t have the services of rookie linebacker Adisa Isaac.

---|---|---|
Adisa Isaac-OLB | Hamstring | Out |
Rasheen Ali-RB | Neck | Doubtful |
Keaton Mitchell-RB | Knee | Out-Reserve/PUP list |
It’s an encouraging sign that not many players are injured, with rookie linebacker Adisa Isaac (hamstring) the only one ruled out. Running back Rasheen Ali is doubtful, but he’s the third-string running back, with four-time Pro Bowler Derrick Henry now toting the rock for the defending AFC North champs.
The current NFL public betting trends are pointing towards the Ravens pulling the upset, with 68% of bets being placed on the moneyline.
Only One Significant Chiefs Injury Heading Into Opener
The Kansas City Chiefs are attempting to do something no NFL team has ever accomplished – win three straight Super Bowls.
Beginning their quest to do so won’t be severely impacted by the injury bug, with receiver Hollywood Brown (shoulder), the lone player ruled out. Defensive End Charles Omenihu (knee) is the one Chief placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to begin the campaign.
Shouldering the load for KC at wideout will be a pair of recent second-rounders in Rashee Rice and Skyy Moore, along with 2024 28th overall selection Xavier Worthy. The Ravens vs Chiefs player props see Rashee Rice as the one to pick up the slack the most, with an over/under receiving yards total set at 59.5 yards.

How Could Injuries Affect Ravens vs Chiefs Betting Lines?
Naturally, heading into a season, there aren’t a ton of injuries to contend with. Even though the Chiefs won’t have Hollywood Brown, it’s not like Patrick Mahomes has had a previous rapport with him, since he’s in his first year with the team.
Last year, Mahomes and co. saw the most drops (44) of any team in the National Football League. They had a whopping seven in the first contest, which saw them drop a one-point battle to Detroit.

The only offensive player Lamar Jackson will be without is rookie running back Rasheen Ali, who is doubtful with a neck injury. He likely wasn’t going to be used much anymore, with bell cow back Derrick Henry expected to get the bulk of the carries.
Linebacker Adisa Isaac won’t up in this one for Baltimore, but he wasn’t expected to enter the lineup as a starter anyhow, so the game won’t be affected much by injuries.
In last year’s AFC title game, the Chiefs came out on top by a score of 17-10. Mahomes is 4-and-1 in his career against Baltimore, including their postseason tilt.

As the highly anticipated matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting the latest injury updates and inactive player announcements. Both teams have key players dealing with injuries that could impact the outcome of Thursday night’s game.
For the Ravens, star quarterback Lamar Jackson is dealing with a back injury that has limited his practice time this week. While Jackson is expected to play, his effectiveness could be hampered by the injury. Wide receiver Marquise Brown is also nursing a hamstring injury that could keep him sidelined for the game.
On the defensive side of the ball, cornerback Marcus Peters is dealing with a thigh injury that could keep him out of Thursday night’s game. Peters’ absence would be a significant blow to the Ravens’ secondary, as he is one of their top playmakers.
As for the Chiefs, wide receiver Tyreek Hill is dealing with a knee injury that has limited his practice time this week. While Hill is expected to play, his explosiveness could be affected by the injury. Tight end Travis Kelce is also dealing with a neck injury that could impact his availability for Thursday night’s game.
On defense, safety Tyrann Mathieu is dealing with a shoulder injury that could keep him out of the game. Mathieu is a key leader on the Chiefs’ defense, and his absence would be felt against the dynamic Ravens offense.
In addition to these injury updates, both teams have key players who are inactive for Thursday night’s game. For the Ravens, running back Gus Edwards is inactive due to a knee injury. Edwards has been a reliable option in the Ravens’ backfield, so his absence will be felt.
For the Chiefs, defensive end Frank Clark is inactive due to a hamstring injury. Clark is a key pass rusher for the Chiefs, so his absence could impact their ability to pressure Lamar Jackson.
Overall, Thursday night’s game between the Ravens and Chiefs promises to be an exciting matchup, but injuries could play a significant role in determining the outcome. Fans will be eagerly watching to see how these key players perform and how their injuries impact the game.
