How Does the NFL Playoff Bracket Work?
Unlike, say, the March Madness bracket, the NFL playoff bracket is not fixed. After each round, the bracket is reorganized so that the best-remaining seed in each conference always faces the worst-remaining seed. This season, that would mean that if either of the #7 seeds win, they will be guaranteed to face the #1 seed in their respective conference (Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC, Detroit Lions in the NFC).

After that, the two conference champions will enjoy a week off before Super Bowl 59 on February 9th, 2025.
The schedule for Wild Card weekend starts with the Los Angeles Chargers vs Houston Texans at 4:30 pm ET on Saturday, Jan. 11, followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens at 8 pm ET.
