Will Taylor Swift Appear During Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show?

The odds on whether Swift will appear on stage during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show were posted over a week ago, and the line hasn’t moved an inch. Swift is still priced at a fairly long +750 to be a guest star during the halftime spectacle, which amounts to just an 11.76% implied win probability.

This prop wasn’t on the board last year when Usher was performing. It makes sense that it would pop up this year, given the history between Lamar and Swift. Lamar added a verse to Swift’s “Bad Blood” remix in 2015, and they went on to shoot a video for it.

There have also been recent rumors that Swift and Lamar are collaborating again. The Super Bowl halftime show isn’t a venue for new songs, though. It’s a shut-up-and-play-the-hits kind of gig.

In all likelihood, Swift is going to be in a box with the Kelce family watching the game. She won’t have time to get field-level and change to take part in the halftime show, not to mention the rehearsal time she would have had to be putting in already.

I see no value on +750 here. It’s not happening.

Will Travis Kelce Propose to Taylor Swift on the Field After Super Bowl 59?

This prop was listed at +800 last year and has come down slightly to +750 ahead of Super Bowl 59, which is, coincidentally, the exact same price as Swift appearing during the halftime show (11.76% implied win probability). Unlike with the halftime prop, though, FanDuel Ontario has also posted a “No” price on the engagement prop, which comes in at a hyper-short -1500 (93.75% implied win probability).

Swift and Kelce have been dating since the fall of 2023, or roughly 18 months. After dominating headlines on entertainment and sports websites alike during the lavender-haze period of their budding relationship, they weren’t in the news nearly as much in the second half of 2024.

In reality, that’s probably a good thing for Kelce and Swift as a pair. The paparazzi would be all over any hint of trouble. But I still don’t have any interest in betting the “yes” side of this prop. First, the Chiefs have to win for it to even be on the table. The updated Chiefs vs Eagles odds show KC as a -125 favorite but the NFL public betting splits are all over Philadelphia to end KC’s bid for an unprecedented three-peat. It’s basically a 50/50 proposition that Kansas City wins.

With the implied probability of the proposal at 11.76%, there would need to be roughly a 1-in-4 chance that Kelce proposes after a Chiefs win for a bet on “yes” to have positive expected value (+EV).
