Maryland has been one of the best over bets in the nation this season, going 18-9 O/U (66.7% over rate). But Michigan State has been an equally good under bet, going 9-18 O/U in their first 27 games.
The Spartans enter Wednesday on a three-game win streak, which includes true-road victories over Illinois (79-65) and arch-rival Michigan (75-62) last time out.
Jase Richardson had a team-high 21 points in the win while Tre Holloman added 18 off the bench.
Not to be outdone, the Terps have won four in a row, which includes three at home over Rutgers (90-81), Iowa (101-75), and USC (88-71) last time out on Thursday.
Rodney Rice had a game-high 22 in the win over the Trojans and all five starters finished in double-figures.
Crucially for the top-heavy Terrapins, who only go six-deep, they have had nearly a week off since the win over USC, when all five starters played at least 33 minutes.

A pair of Terps – Julian Reese (14.0 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 1.3 APG) and Derik Queen (15.9 PPG, 9.1 RPG, 2.1 APG) – also have the two-highest rebound totals at 9.5 and 8.5, respectively.

Michigan State vs Maryland Predictions
This is going to be an exceptionally tough trip to College Park for the Spartans, who are playing their second straight game on the road and have had one fewer day of rest that Maryland.
The Terrapins 13-game home win streak includes convincing wins over seventh-rated Wisconsin (76-68) and 27th-rated UCLA (79-61). In other words, they’ve faced teams on par with, or better than, MSU at home already, and had no trouble seeing them off. MSU has some impressive road wins on its resume already, especially the 79-65 rout of Illinois and 75-62 demolition of the Wolverines. But they’ve also dropped recent road tilts against USC and UCLA.
Heading to College Park isn’t as far as the west-coast trip that tripped up the Spartans, but it’s certainly a longer and more difficult trip than Champaign, IL, or Ann Arbor, MI.

On the other side, the Terrapins have had a solid season thus far, boasting a 14-11 overall record and a 6-8 record in conference play. Maryland is led by senior guard Eric Ayala, who is averaging 15.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. The Terrapins have shown that they can compete with some of the best teams in the country, and will look to do just that against Michigan State.
As for the betting odds, Michigan State is currently listed as a slight favorite in this matchup. The Spartans are -2.5 point favorites, with the over/under set at 138.5 points. Bettors may want to keep an eye on the injury report leading up to the game, as injuries could play a significant role in the outcome.
In terms of player props, there are several options to consider for this game. Tyson Walker is a solid bet to go over his points and assists prop, as he has been a consistent scorer and facilitator for the Spartans all season. Eric Ayala is another player to watch, as he has the ability to fill up the stat sheet in multiple categories.
As for predictions, this game has all the makings of a close and competitive matchup. Both teams have the talent to come out on top, but Michigan State may have a slight edge due to their experience and depth. Look for the Spartans to pull out a narrow victory in what should be an exciting game from start to finish.
Overall, this game has the potential to be a high-scoring affair with plenty of action on both ends of the court. Bettors should keep a close eye on the odds and player props leading up to tip-off, as there could be some value to be found in this matchup. Regardless of the outcome, fans can expect an entertaining game between two talented teams in the Big Ten.
