- The NFL is back with another monster slate for Week 4 on Sunday, September 29th, 2024
- A great way to get in on the action is by betting NFL player props
- See below to find two of my favorite player props to bet for Week 4
It’s hard to believe we’re already at Week 4 but here we are. The NFL season moves fast. It waits for no one. The smartest thing we can do is keep up because the books have a lot of moving parts to deal with. Their trouble is our opportunity, so all we have to do is keep up with who’s in and who’s out. If we do that, we’re gold.
This week we have two bets that are based on the books just not being able to price roles. We’ll start with the Cincinnati Bengals/Carolina Panthers matchup. They benched their quarterback last week and now they have injury issues in their wide receiver room. After that, we can take a look at the Baltimore Ravens’ running back situation. I’m pretty sure the books dropped the ball there too. This is going to be an incredible week. Keep reading.

Diontae Johnson Might Set a Record
We all make mistakes. We’re talking everyone here. But one of the biggest mistakes we’ve ever seen is the Carolina Panthers taking Bryce Young #1 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. He set that franchise back years and while that sucks for them, it’s great for us because we have a new quarterback throwing to Diontae Johnson.
And before the haters say he sat out of practice Thursday, he’s fine. He’s actually planning on playing Sunday.

The best thing that could have happened to Diontae Johnson was Andy Dalton taking over the QB1 role in Carolina. For starters, Dalton isn’t that bad. He’s not an all-time great, but he’s not Bryce Young bad, either. What’s even better is that he’s not afraid to lock in on one target, either. Just last week, Dalton targeted Johnson 14 times. That’s crazy.
This week we could easily see more of the same. Adam Thielen is sitting out and if we’re being honest, the receiver room in Carolina is pretty empty. They just don’t have guys and they’ll need some guys if they want to hang with the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. My guess is, the Bengal will play this thing from ahead, and when that happens, Diontae Johnson will see 10+ targets again. When that happens, he’ll catch at least six of them. Feels right.

Don’t Sleep on Justice Hill
The Baltimore Ravens signed Derrick Henry in the offseason, which fits perfectly with their identity. He’s a big-ass dude, who could run through a brick wall. Literally perfect for the Ravens.
While that’s great, the Ravens still need a pass catcher that can spell Henry. I think they have him in Justice Hill.
Justice Hill has thus far proven to be a great compliment to Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens run game.
There’s no doubt his game has elevated this year, his pass protection is much improved as is his ball security! #RavensFlock pic.twitter.com/8HX0wFiPN1

The thing with Hill is, he’s been in the league for five years and still has yet to rush for over 1,000 yards in his career. He was a special teamer for a couple years, then he was hurt, then he played sparingly at running back. Point is, he’s never really had too much of an opportunity until now.
Judging by the fact that Baltimore just signed Hill to an extension, it looks like the Ravens like him. I think he’s best served to catch passes out of the backfield, and that’s exactly what he did in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The man caught six of eight targets that night. Look for this game to play out the same way that one did, and when that happens, Hill is catching at least three passes. Feels right.

As NFL Week 4 approaches, football fans and bettors alike are gearing up for another exciting Sunday of games. One popular way to add some extra excitement to the games is by placing prop bets. Prop bets, short for proposition bets, are wagers on specific events or occurrences within a game that don’t necessarily affect the final outcome.
For those looking to get in on the action, here are some of the best prop bets to consider for NFL Week 4 Sunday games on September 29:
1. Total Passing Yards: One prop bet that is always popular is the total passing yards for a specific quarterback. Look for matchups where the quarterback is facing a weak secondary or has a history of putting up big numbers. Keep an eye on quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees who are known for their prolific passing abilities.
2. Total Receiving Yards: Another popular prop bet is the total receiving yards for a specific wide receiver or tight end. Look for players who have been targeted frequently by their quarterback and have a favorable matchup against a weak defense. Players like Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, and Travis Kelce are always good options to consider.
3. Total Rushing Yards: Running backs can also be a lucrative option for prop bets, especially if they are facing a defense that struggles against the run. Look for running backs who have a history of putting up big numbers on the ground and have a favorable matchup. Players like Ezekiel Elliott, Saquon Barkley, and Christian McCaffrey are always solid choices.
4. First Touchdown Scorer: One of the most exciting prop bets is predicting which player will score the first touchdown of the game. Look for players who are known for their red zone prowess and have a history of scoring early in games. Keep an eye on players like Alvin Kamara, Tyreek Hill, and Davante Adams who are always threats to find the end zone.
5. Total Sacks: For those looking to bet on defensive stats, total sacks can be an intriguing prop bet to consider. Look for matchups where a dominant pass rush is facing a weak offensive line or a quarterback who holds onto the ball too long. Teams like the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, and Pittsburgh Steelers are known for their ability to generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
When placing prop bets, it’s important to do your research and consider factors such as injuries, weather conditions, and recent performance. Remember to gamble responsibly and have fun watching the games unfold on NFL Week 4 Sunday games on September 29. Good luck!
