- It’s time to lock in and start laying down the law for the NFL Wild Card Weekend slate
- This is the week where we as bettors have our biggest advantage over the books with player prop bets
- Getting bets in on Friday is my favorite strategy, and it’s no different for this week
It’s playoff time which means we’re watching football all weekend long. Personally, I can’t even wait. Now, obviously, we’re betting these games, and we’re betting heavy. Not to be a downer, but we’re nearing the end of betting football for a few months, so we need to get as much action as possible. That means getting in early, which is what we’re doing with this article. The lines still haven’t been hit too badly, so we’ve got value falling out of our pockets. All we have to do now is grab it up and wait. Feels easy.
Wild Card Weekend NFL Player Props and Odds
Player | Receptions | Receiving Yards | Pick |
---|---|---|---|
Amari Cooper (Bills) | 2.5 (Ov +145 / Un -190) | 24.5 (Ov -115 / Un -115) | 40+ Receiving Yards (+200) |
Player | Receptions | Receiving Yards | Pick |
Nico Collins (Texans) | 6.5 (Ov -110 / Un -125) | 87.5 (Ov -113 / Un -113) | 100+ Receiving Yards (+136) |
Amari Cooper Is Not Some Bum
Amari Cooper left the Buffalo Bills right before their season finale with the New England Patriots. He had to attend to a family matter, and anytime there is a situation like that, only the player knows how long they’ll be gone. I think we all can respect that.
Lucky for us, and Amari, after a four-day absence, he’s back.

Here’s the thing with Cooper: his role in Buffalo has been different than any other role he’s ever had. Who knows if it’s because he was getting acclimated with the offense or if it’s because he fell off? It could be a little bit of both.
If we’re being honest, I don’t think he’s fallen off. Sure, he’s been a part-time player in Buffalo so far, but look at the number he needs Sunday. The guy only needs to go over 40 receiving yards for a +200 payout. Cooper has already done that four times in seven games with the Bills. In two of those four games, he ran fewer than 13 routes. The man does not need a ton of work to get to 40 yards.
Now, I know the haters are going to say Patrick Surtain is roaming the Broncos’ secondary is cause for concern, but I don’t think so. Where was Surtain when Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins were baptizing Denver on national television a couple weeks ago? Both of those guys went for 100+ on Denver. All we need is 40+ from Amari. Feels right.

Nico Collins Won’t Be Denied
If there is one team on upset alert this weekend, it’s the Houston Texans. They are playing at home, but they’re still underdogs, which can’t feel too good. On top of that, many think they should be even bigger than 3-point underdogs to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The only thing that can save them now is the CJ Stroud/Nico Collins connection.

Nico Collins had a career year in 2024. Despite missing five games, the guy was still able to eclipse 1000 receiving yards. That’s not easy to do, even in today’s NFL. The man is the definition of “alpha”.
When it comes to game script, I’m of the opinion that the Texans aren’t big enough underdogs. If we’re being honest, I think they’ll play this entire thing from behind. No offense to Texans’ fans, but that’s just the way it is. That’s actually huge for all of us Nico bettors.
The best thing that can happen is Houston falls behind early, but that doesn’t have to happen for us to win this banger. No matter when the Texans are forced into survival mode, Collins will be in a great spot. We just watched Jakobi Myers for 120+ against this same Chargers’ defense. A few weeks ago, Mike Evans big-boyed them for 169 yards. Translation: Nico Collins is going for way more than 100 yards in this game. Feels right.

As the NFL playoffs kick off with Wild Card Weekend, football fans and bettors alike are looking for the best prop bets to make the games even more exciting. Player props are a popular choice for those looking to add some extra action to the games, and there are plenty of options to choose from for this weekend’s matchups.
One of the most popular player props for Wild Card Weekend is the over/under on passing yards for the quarterbacks. With high-powered offenses like the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills in action, there are sure to be plenty of passing yards to go around. Look for quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen to put up big numbers through the air, making the over on their passing yards a tempting bet.
Another player prop to consider is the over/under on rushing yards for running backs. With teams like the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens relying heavily on their running games, there are sure to be some big performances on the ground this weekend. Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson are both threats to break off long runs at any moment, so taking the over on their rushing yards could pay off big.
For those looking for a more specific prop bet, there are options like first touchdown scorer or total touchdowns scored by a specific player. With explosive playmakers like Tyreek Hill and Stefon Diggs on the field, there is always a chance for a big play that could result in a touchdown. Betting on these players to find the end zone first or multiple times throughout the game could provide a nice payout.
Overall, Wild Card Weekend offers plenty of opportunities for bettors to get in on the action with player props. Whether you’re looking for a simple over/under bet on passing or rushing yards, or a more specific prop like first touchdown scorer, there are plenty of options to choose from. So grab your favorite jersey, place your bets, and get ready for an exciting weekend of NFL playoff action.
