Sascha Paruk’s 2025 MLB betting record: 9-12 (-4.48 units). All wagers one unit unless stated otherwise.

Blue Jays vs Red Sox Pick: Toronto ML

The Red Sox (6-6, 3-2 home) are proving to be the streakiest team in the majors in the early going. After starting the season 1-4, they rattled off five straight wins to get back above .500, but now they’ve dropped two straight at home to the AL East-rival Blue Jays (7-5, 2-3 away), scoring just three runs in 18 innings: 6-2 on Monday, 6-1 on Tuesday.

Coming off an All-Star 2024 campaign, Tanner Houck (6.52 ERA, 1.76 WHIP in 9.2 innings) has been awful in his first two starts of 2025. Yes, both were on the road, but that’s where he posted a 2.82 ERA last season, compared to a 3.33 number at home.

Kevin Gausman (3.97 ERA, 0.71 WHIP in 11.1 IP) has been considerably better, and also has a much longer track record than Houck of being an almost-elite MLB starter. He’s also had plenty of success against this current Boston roster (.230 average, .653 OPS in 135 total at-bats).

I love the Jays at plus money tonight.

  • Pick: Blue Jays moneyline (+110)

Phillies vs Braves Pick: ATL Moneyline

In the NL East battle between the Phillies (7-3, 2-2 away) and struggling Braves (2-8, 2-1 home), I’m backing Atlanta to continue righting the ship in their second homestand of the season. The Braves started the year losing seven straight road games to the Padres and Dodgers. But they’re 2-1 since returning home, including a 7-5 win over the Phillies in the first game of the series last night.

On Wednesday, the Braves have a chance to feast on a starter they’ve mashed over the years: Taijuan Walker. The 32-year-old pitched six shutout innings in his first start of the season, allowing just three hits and a walk with four Ks. But given that it came against the White Sox, don’t read too much into it.

Career, Walker has allowed current ATL batters to hit .349 with a 1.028 OPS in 83 at-bats. He’s allowed homers to Bryan De La Cruz, Austin Riley, and Michael Harris II twice.

  • Pick: Braves moneyline (-135)

Wednesday night is set to be an exciting one for MLB fans, with six games on the schedule offering plenty of opportunities for betting and predictions. Here are some of the best bets to consider for each of the matchups:

1. New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays
The Yankees are coming off a strong performance against the Red Sox and will look to continue their winning ways against the Blue Jays. Look for the Yankees to come out on top in this matchup, with their powerful lineup likely to give them the edge.

2. Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals
The Braves have been on a hot streak lately, winning seven of their last ten games. They will face off against the struggling Nationals, who have been struggling to find consistency this season. The Braves are the favorites in this matchup and are a solid bet to come out on top.

3. Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
The Cubs have been playing well recently, winning six of their last ten games. They will face off against the Pirates, who have been struggling to find their footing this season. The Cubs are the favorites in this matchup and should be a safe bet to win.

4. Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers
The Astros have been one of the top teams in the league this season, with a potent offense and solid pitching staff. They will face off against the Rangers, who have been struggling to keep up with the competition. The Astros are the favorites in this matchup and should be a safe bet to win.

5. Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants
The Dodgers have been dominant this season, with one of the best records in the league. They will face off against the Giants, who have been playing well but may struggle against the Dodgers’ strong lineup. The Dodgers are the favorites in this matchup and should be a safe bet to win.

6. Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland Athletics
The Mariners have been surprising everyone this season, with a strong start that has put them in contention for a playoff spot. They will face off against the Athletics, who have been struggling to find consistency. The Mariners are the underdogs in this matchup but could be a good bet for an upset.

Overall, Wednesday night’s MLB games offer plenty of betting opportunities for fans looking to get in on the action. Whether you’re looking for a safe bet or hoping for an upset, there are plenty of options to consider for each of the six matchups. Good luck with your picks and predictions!
