Props Pick #1: Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi Passing Yards

As you’ll recall Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi tossed for nearly 400 yards against the Colorado Buffaloes last year as the epic 2023 Rocky Mountain Showdown went to double overtime. He won’t need overtime to reach his passing yardage prop of 251.5 on Saturday night.

The Aledo, Texas native tossed for 288.3 yards per game last season and projects to be a high volume passer against a Buffaloes defense that has struggled thus far. The Buffs allowed 334 yards of total offense to Nebraska last week, and that’s after Matt Rhule called off the dogs in the second-half after they took a 28-0 lead into the break.

Fowler-Nicolosi should have all day to thrown against a Buffaloes’ unit that holds just a 61.8 PFF pass-rush grade this season. Despite a number of high-profile transfers, Colorado has failed to get consistent pressure on quarterbacks and have only two sacks on the year.

On top of that, Colorado’s starting strong safety Shilo Sanders will miss this contest after injuring his forearm against Nebraska. Anticipate a shootout in Fort Collins on Saturday and bet on Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi’s passing yardage over.

  • Pick: Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi over 251.5 passing yards (-114)

Props Pick #2: Jam Miller Rushing Yards

Alabama running back Jam Miller has averaged just 25.4 rushing yards per contest across his past 15 games. He’s also failed to exceed 67 rushing yards in 13 of those 15 matchups. The junior running back will find rushing lanes much harder to come by against Wisconsin than he did against South Florida last week.

However, the Badgers have struggled against the run thus far in 2024, ranking 66th nationally and giving up 121.5 yards per game. They allowed FCS South Dakota to rush for 4.4 yards per carry, and allowed a 75-touchdown drive on only running plays last week.  In total, Wisconsin have given up 245 rushing yards and three touchdowns already this season, and will be tested against Alabama.

After all, the Crimson Tide ground game has looked fantastic this season. Kalen DeBoer’s squad have racked up 549 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in two games. Quarterback Jalen Milroe is always a threat to escape the pocket. However, with the Badgers linebackers well publicized struggles to fit the run, expect to Miller be the one to drop the hammer on Wisconsin on Saturday.

The junior RB averaged 9.7 yards per carry through two games, and has the acceleration necessary to score on any touch. Bet on Miller’s over 68.5 rushing yards college football week 3 player prop, as he’ll have a big role in Alabama’s quest to defeat the Badgers.

  • Pick: Jam Miller over 68.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

As college football season kicks into high gear, fans and bettors alike are eagerly looking for the best bets for player props in Week 3. With a full slate of games on Saturday, September 14, there are plenty of opportunities to cash in on some potentially lucrative wagers.

One player to keep an eye on is Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts. The transfer from Alabama has been lighting up the scoreboard in his first two games with the Sooners, throwing for over 600 yards and six touchdowns. In Week 3, Hurts faces off against UCLA, a team that has struggled defensively so far this season. Look for Hurts to continue his hot streak and put up big numbers in this matchup.

Another player to consider is Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor. Taylor has been one of the most dominant rushers in college football over the past two seasons, and he has continued that trend in the early part of this season. In Week 3, Taylor and the Badgers take on a weak New Mexico defense that has struggled to stop the run. Taylor should have a field day against this defense and could easily surpass the 150-yard mark.

For those looking for a sleeper pick, keep an eye on Texas A&M wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon. Ausbon has been a favorite target of quarterback Kellen Mond so far this season, racking up over 100 receiving yards in each of the Aggies’ first two games. In Week 3, Texas A&M faces off against Lamar, a team that is overmatched in terms of talent. Ausbon should have plenty of opportunities to make big plays in this game and could easily surpass the 100-yard mark once again.

When it comes to player props in college football, it’s important to do your research and consider factors such as matchups, recent performance, and injury status. By keeping these factors in mind and making informed decisions, you can increase your chances of cashing in on some winning bets in Week 3. Good luck!
