The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft has nearly been completed and bettors and sportsbooks alike now know where the biggest names will be playing in their first season as a pro. That’s led DraftKings to post statistical over/unders (yardage, touchdowns, receptions, etcetera) for the likes of #1 pick Cam Ward, #2 Travis Hunter, and #6 Ashton Jeanty.

Cam Ward Over/Under Passing Yards & Touchdowns
As expected, Miami/Oregon State alum Cameron Ward was taken first overall by the Tennessee Titans and is the presumptive starter for a Titans team that’s been lacking a franchise QB since, honestly, Steve McNair. (Some offense to Ryan Tannehill.)
While DK hasn’t actually posted under odds on yards or TDs, Ward’s baseline O/U for yards is effectively 3,249.5 (he’s -100 to hit 3,250) while his O/U for TDs is effectively 19.5 (he’s -100 to hit at least 20 touchdowns).
Over the last ten years, only four quarterbacks have gone over 3,250 yards in their rookie season: CJ Stroud (4,108), Bo Nix (3,775), Jayden Daniels (3,568), and Caleb Williams (3,541). Those same four (an no others) hit at least 20 TDs.
Ward opened as the second-favorite behind Jeanty in the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds at BetRivers, but when FanDuel opened their odds on that market, Ward was the chalk.
Ashton Jeanty Over/Under Rushing Yards & Touchdowns
The Offensive Rookie of the Year favorite at BetRivers, Jeanty was selected sixth overall by the Las Vegas Raiders and is expected to be the RB1 from the outset. Last season, Alexander Mattison (who’s now with Miami) led the Raiders with just 420 rushing yards. ESPN has already slotted Jeanty into the starting role ahead of veteran Raheem Mostert.
Like with Ward, DraftKings hasn’t posted unders for Jeanty at this point, but he is listed at -110 to go over 1,099.5 yards. At a glance, that looks challenging, at least based on recent history. In the last ten years, the leading rookie rusher has gone over 1,100 yards eight times, and nine rookie RBs in total have hit that number in the last decade.
Last year, much-less-heralded Bucky Irving ran for 1,122 yards with the Buccaneers. But in 2023, Bijan Robinson led all rookies with just 976 yards, and in 2022, it was Seattle’s Kenneth Walker who led the way with 1,050. From 2015 to 2021, at least one rookie rushed for 1,100 yards each season.
Travis Hunter Over/Unders Receiving Yards & TDs
Two-way player Travis Hunter, who was taken second-overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, has opened with modest receiving-yard totals, which is sensible given that he’s likely to play more snaps on defense as a cornerback than on offense as a receiver.
Hunter is priced at +125 to hit 700 yards and +275 to hit 800. There is ample precedent for rookie wideouts hitting those numbers. In the last five years, alone, 32 different rookie wide receivers have hit the 700-yard mark.

When it comes to betting on NFL rookies, there are a few key factors to consider. One of the most popular types of bets for rookies is the over/under odds, which allow bettors to wager on whether a player will exceed or fall short of a certain statistical threshold.
In the case of Cam Ward, Ashton Jeanty, and Travis Hunter, three highly touted rookies in the upcoming NFL season, there is a lot of buzz surrounding their potential impact on the field. Let’s take a closer look at their over/under odds and what bettors should consider when placing their bets.
Cam Ward, a quarterback out of Alabama, is projected to have an over/under passing yards total of 3,500 for the season. Ward has shown great accuracy and arm strength in college, but questions remain about his ability to adjust to the speed and complexity of the NFL game. Bettors should consider Ward’s supporting cast, offensive scheme, and competition when deciding whether to take the over or under on his passing yards total.
Ashton Jeanty, a linebacker out of LSU, is projected to have an over/under total of 100 tackles for the season. Jeanty is known for his physicality and instincts on the field, but his playing time and role in the defense will ultimately determine whether he can reach this threshold. Bettors should consider Jeanty’s health, playing style, and defensive scheme when evaluating his over/under odds for tackles.
Travis Hunter, a cornerback out of Florida State, is projected to have an over/under total of 3 interceptions for the season. Hunter is a ball-hawking cornerback with great instincts and athleticism, but his ability to create turnovers at the NFL level remains to be seen. Bettors should consider Hunter’s matchups, defensive scheme, and playing time when deciding whether to take the over or under on his interception total.
In conclusion, analyzing the over/under odds for NFL rookies like Cam Ward, Ashton Jeanty, and Travis Hunter requires a thorough understanding of their skill sets, roles on their respective teams, and potential obstacles they may face in their rookie seasons. By considering these factors and doing your research, you can make informed bets on these exciting young players and potentially cash in on their success.
