It’s been a high-octane series between the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings, and the business is only really going to pick up now in Round 1 of the NHL Playoff Bracket. After getting smacked around in LA to fall behind 2-0, Edmonton stormed back with back-to-back wins at home to even things up.
Now, down to a Best-of-3 and the scene shifting back to Hollywood, it’s time to revisit the updated series odds, schedule, and my Oilers vs Kings prediction.
Edmonton Oilers vs LA Kings Series Odds
In the Oilers vs Kings series odds, the books continue to stay with the Oilers, but it’s gotten tighter now, with Edmonton getting -115 odds to advance to Round 2. That’s an implied win probability of 53.49%.

Goals Galore in Oilers vs Kings Series
If you like offense, you’ve gotta love this series, as Edmonton and LA are the top scoring teams in the playoffs, with the Kings leading the way at 4.75 goals per game, with the Oilers right behind them at 4.50.
The only other team in the playoffs at the 4+ goal plateau per game are the St Louis Blues.
Fingers crossed you’ve been banging the Over in this series, as the teams have combined for at least seven goals in every game, with the highest total set at 6.5, which finally got lifted to that high in Game 4.
Oilers and Kings dot the top of the playoff scoring leaderboard part of a 3-way tie. Leon Draisaitl has nine points, including the crucial game-winning goal in OT to even the series in Game 4. He’s an automatic producer against LA, now going 18 straight playoff games against the Kings with at least a point.
Oilers vs Kings Series Schedule
*if necessary
Teammate Connor McDavid is also there with nine points, while LA’s Adrian Kempe is right there with them, tied for the playoff goal lead with four and nine points.
LA’s Anze Kopitar and Phillip Danault are also in the mix, tied for sixth in playoff scoring. Kopitar has a goal and six assists, while Danault has two goals and seven points.
Oilers vs Kings Series Prediction
Edmonton’s goalie move from Stuart Skinner to Calvin Pickard is a move that has come up aces for the Oilers. Pickard’s numbers are better than pedestrian, as he has a .889 save percentage and a 3.29 GAA, but the most important stat is 2-0 as the starter.
But he’s definitely on the rise: Game 4 was his best game yet, as he turned aside 38 of 41 shots, a sharp .927 save percentage that kept Edmonton in it after they fell behind 3-1.
At the other end, the wheels have come off of LA’s defense, and Darcy Kuemper hasn’t been a wall for the last line of defense. He gave up nine goals in the two games in Edmonton, and he’s now allowed at least four goals in three of the four games.
Kuemper was under siege in Game 4, particularly in overtime, but he couldn’t keep the dam sealed, with Draisaitl ending things. He’s got an .881 save percentage and a 3.74 GAA through four games.
Oilers vs Kings Series Stats
There’s a troubling trend developing here, though: LA has opened the scoring three times in this series, building leads of 4-0, 3-0 and 2-0 in Game 4. In those games, the Oilers have clawed back to even in Game 1, to within 1 in Game 2, and a victory in Game 4.
Even in Game 3, Edmonton opened the scoring, but the Kings fought their way to a 4-3 lead, but again they couldn’t hold them off in a 7-4 defeat.
The Oilers’ offense is the most potent one in this series. With just enough goaltending now in Pickard, they should outscore the Kings just enough to take two more wins and clinch this series.

The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings are currently facing off in a highly anticipated playoff series, with both teams vying for a spot in the next round. After Game 4, the series is tied at 2-2, making the upcoming games even more crucial for both teams.
Looking at the odds for the remaining games in the series, it’s clear that this matchup is incredibly close. The Oilers and Kings have been evenly matched throughout the series, with each team showcasing their strengths and weaknesses on the ice. As a result, oddsmakers are finding it difficult to predict a clear favorite in this series.
One key factor to consider in this series is the performance of the goaltenders. Both teams have elite netminders in Mike Smith for the Oilers and Jonathan Quick for the Kings. Smith has been solid between the pipes for Edmonton, making key saves and keeping his team in games. Quick, on the other hand, has shown flashes of brilliance but has also struggled at times, allowing the Oilers to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Another important aspect to consider is the depth of each team’s roster. The Oilers have been led by their dynamic duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, who have been dominant throughout the series. However, the Kings have shown that they have depth scoring as well, with players like Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown stepping up in crucial moments.
As for a prediction for the remainder of the series, it’s truly anyone’s game at this point. Both teams have shown that they are capable of winning games and making adjustments as needed. However, if the Oilers can continue to rely on their top players and get solid goaltending from Smith, they may have the edge over the Kings.
Ultimately, this series is shaping up to be a thrilling battle between two talented teams. Fans can expect intense competition and high-stakes hockey as the Oilers and Kings fight for a spot in the next round of the playoffs. It’s anyone’s guess as to who will come out on top, but one thing is for certain – this series is far from over.
