Top Super Bowl 59 Prop Bets for Game, Touchdowns, and Novelty Bets

  • The Super Bowl is our last chance of the season to get a little loose so we need to take it
  • One of my favorite ways to get loose betting the Super Bowl is with game and novelty prop bets
  • See my favorite Eagles vs Chiefs game and novelty player props for the Super Bowl

As we get closer to Sunday, we’re going to hear about “dumb bets”. There is going to be discourse all over the Internet about how people shouldn’t be betting on Novelty Props because they’re negative EV. I will not be one of those people. In my opinion, we’ve been through a long season and we need some nonsense. In fact, we need as much nonsense as we can handle. It’s the last football game that actually means something until September. We literally can’t have enough nonsense at this point. Lucky for us, I’ve circled three of my favorite nonsense bets for this year’s Super Bowl. The key to these things is, they start immediately and will take us through the entire game. Keep reading.

Super Bowl Coin Toss Pick: We Have to Go Heads This Year

The coin toss is an American tradition because it is by far the best way to settle any dispute. Let the coin decide. Unlike people, the coin is emotionless. It doesn’t care who is right or who is wrong. It’s a coin.

That’s why, ever since I can remember, a coin has been used to determine who gets the ball first in NFL football games. It’s a whole thing.

Somewhere down the line, some genius thought, “We should be able to bet on the coin toss”. I don’t know who that guy or girl was, but they cracked the code with that idea. It’s literally the best and only way I know to start a Super Bowl.

In the past, I’ve always been a “tails never fails” guy, but sometimes we need to switch things up. We have to zig when everyone thinks we’re going to zag. That’s just how making dumb bets works. In the end, it’s the first bet of the game so we have plenty of time to regroup if things go south which means we can afford to get a little loose here. That’s why I’m going heads, which you can get at +100 at DraftKings. Feels right.

Two-Point Conversion Bets Are Key

Now we need something that can last the entire game, and in my opinion, it doesn’t get a lot better than a two-point conversion bet. Back in the day, this would have been +10000 because nobody went for two. Literally nobody because teams weren’t even allowed to do it until 1994.

Fast forward to today and one of the teams playing in this game can thank a two-point conversion for even being here.

Here’s the thing, there’s not a ton of data we can look to in order to make a great bet here. Two-point conversions typically happen because of game-flow which makes it very difficult for the sportsbooks to price. Though many believe the books have the “script”, they simply don’t so in a situation like this, we can just find the best price and fire away.

We do have some data here in the sense that the Eagles went for two at the 4th highest rate in the NFL this season. That really doesn’t mean much for this game but it’s nice to know that these guys aren’t afraid to go for it. On top of that, when we’re thinking of the fun factor, this thing could be alive until the final drive. The fact that it’s even-money makes it a must bet in my opinion.

There Has to Be a Gatorade Bath

A lot of people say that the Gatorade bath began in 1984 after a New York Giants’ regular season win. Other people say it didn’t start until 1986. Honestly, I don’t even remember. The first one I recall is the time John Madden did a play-by-play of Harry Carson going for the bucket before he dumped it on Bill Parcells.

No matter when it started, it’s become a thing. Every Super Bowl-winning coach gets a bath and it’s glorious. The only thing that made it even better was the fact that were eventually able to bet on it.

Here’s the thing with this bet, it’s tough. The strategy I like the best is to just go with the color the team you think will win drinks. In most Super Bowls, it’s not easy since we never really see what color Gatorade these guys are drinking until they win the Super Bowl. Luckily, I think the Kansas City Chiefs are going to win this game and we know from the last two Super Bowls that they like the Purple drink.

What’s beautiful about this one is, the Eagles could easily be a purple team too. Anyone who has ever had Purple Gatorade knows that it’s delicious. And at +225, it could also be the best way we can put a bow on the 2024-25 NFL Season. Feels right.
