Predictions for NFL Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bets in the Wild Card Round

  • There are NFL TD props available for every game of the NFL’s Super Wild Card Weekend
  • I have gone deep into all six games to find the players who present the best value to score a touchdown
  • See the six players I am betting to score a TD in Wild Card Weekend

The NFL’s Super Wild Card Weekend is played out over the span of three days, from Saturday to Monday, and there are only six games to be played. With such few games to choose from, and far fewer players to research for NFL TD props, I have been able to really focus in on these games and believe I have found six great NFL anytime TD scorer picks for this weekend.

I went 5-5 on my TD picks last week, winning 0.88 units. Yet, I’m still frustrated by Olamide Zaccheaus dropping that ball in the endzone on a trick play that found him wide open. The +305 hit would have made the week much sweeter! Same goes for Jaleel McLaughlin, who touched the ball 18 times, far more than any other Bronco, but didn’t contribute to any of their five TDs. But as I said last week, I will take the win and hope to profit again on my Wild Card NFL TD picks!

Best NFL TD Scorer Picks for Wild Card Weekend

Player Anytime TD Odds
JK Dobbins +130 (FanDuel)
Mark Andrews +150 (DraftKings)
Audric Estime +375 (ESPN Bet)
Josh Jacobs -110 (bet365)
Terry McLaurin +140 (bet365)
Aaron Jones +125 (DraftKings)

I am betting one player from each of the six NFL Wild Card matchups this weekend, and each player above is a half-unit bet, except for Josh Jacobs, who is a full-unit bet. There is a chance I add another player or two to the list above ahead of their respective game’s kickoff. So, be sure to check back throughout the weekend.

JK Dobbins

My first instinct in this game brought me to Joe Mixon, but the combination of the Chargers defense allowing a TD on a league-low 45% of their opponents’ drives, Mixon’s -120 odds, and Houston’s offensive struggles as of late got me off him. Instead, I’m siding with the other notable running back in this matchup: JK Dobbins.

However, I do want to disclose that this is the game I am least confident in for scoring, and the sportsbooks share the same thought, as they have set the total at 42.5, which is the low for any Wild Card game.

Dobbins has scored a touchdown in seven of 15 games this season, though one of the no-TD games was when he got hurt early against the Ravens after only handling six carries. The first-year Charger has nine total TDs in those games, and dominates his team’s red zone looks.

Dobbins averages 2.54 red zone looks per game this season, but that number jumps to 5.0 looking at the final two weeks of the regular season. I believe all of those red zone touches will lead to at least one score against a Texans defense that’s allowing a touchdown on 63.6% of their opponents’ red zone drives, which is sixth-worst in the NFL.

  • Pick: JK Dobbins Anytime TD (+130 at FanDuel)

Mark Andrews

If you’ve been following these picks weekly, you know I have written about Mark Andrews a lot lately. The tight end has scored a touchdown in each of his last six games, and in ten of his last 12. It has been an extremely impressive (and profitable) run. I simply cannot look away from Andrews to score in his seventh straight game with the odds DraftKings is offering (+150).

The 29-year-old leads the Ravens in red zone targets with 15, which accounts for 24.6% of the team’s red zone targets, and is third on the team in red zone looks per game, only trailing Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson.

Andrews just scored a touchdown against this Steelers defense in Week 16, where he caught four of six targets for 37 yards and the TD. The threat of Henry in the backfield has really opened up space for Andrews to work in the red zone, and I suspect Pittsburgh to fall victim to another Andrews TD Saturday night.

  • Pick: Mark Andrews Anytime TD (+150 at DraftKings)

Audric Estime

With some pretty short prices on Josh Allen and James Cook TDs, I have dug a little deeper to find the player I believe presents the most value to score a touchdown in the Broncos at Bills game: Audric Estime.

The rookie RB has a touchdown in two of his last three games and seems to have taken over short-yardage and goal line work. No other Broncos RB has seen a goal line carry since Week 13, when Javonte Williams was given two. Estime has seen two goal line looks in the last three games, tied for the team-lead with Michael Burton. He has also seen four red zone rushing attempts in that timeline, tying him for the team-lead with Jaleel McLaughlin. But Estime is not just a short-yardage back, as he has seen at least nine touches in each of the last three games as well.

On top of Estime seeming to be taking over more of these opportunities, I like the matchup against a Bills defense that hasn’t been overly impressive this season, in my opinion. Buffalo allows 4.5 yards per carry (19th) and are 17th in net yards allowed per pass attempt. Their last three games have come against the Patriots (twice) and Jets. Prior to that, they gave up 42 points to the Lions and 44 to the Rams, respectively. So, I do think Denver is going to score some points on Sunday.

Throw in the fact that the game is expected to be played in freezing temperatures, and I think Sean Payton may opt for a little more opportunity for his bruising RB.

  • Pick: Audric Estime Anytime TD (+375 at ESPN Bet)

Josh Jacobs

I want to start this off by saying, I know how good the Eagles defense is. Philadelphia has given up the fewest yards and the second-fewest points in the NFL. They rank ninth in yards allowed per rush attempt and have only surrendered nine rushing touchdowns this season.

But Josh Jacobs should not be getting odds any longer than -130 to score a touchdown in any game. That’s why I have laid a full unit on this bet.

Jacobs has scored a touchdown in eight straight games and ten of his last 11. He has 14 touchdowns in that 11-game span. The first-year Packer has been dominating red zone and goal line looks for his team. Jacobs averages 3.53 red zone looks per game, which jumps to 4.57 per game since Week 12, while no other Packer averages more than 0.88 per game. The bruising RB is also averaging 1.35 goal line looks per game, which goes up to 2.0 since Week 12, while no other Packer averages more than 0.43 per game.

The former Raider absolutely dominates Green Bay’s opportunities when they get into scoring territory. I appreciate sportsbooks don’t think the Packers will score that much against this stingy Eagles defense, but they’ll have at least one red zone drive, and I like Jacobs to be the one who finishes the drive.

  • Pick: Josh Jacobs Anytime TD (-110 at bet365)

Terry McLaurin

Thanks to a red hot finish to the season, Terry McLaurin led the Commanders in touchdowns with 13. The player with the second-most was Brian Robinson Jr with eight. McLaurin scored a touchdown in five of his last six games, totaling seven in that span.

Rookie QB Jayden Daniels has been looking McLaurin’s way often since the calendar turned to December, as the veteran WR has seen at least seven targets in four of his last five, where he saw double-digit targets in two of those games.

The Commanders will see a Tampa Bay defense in the Wild Card round, who are welcoming back two key players in their secondary: Antoine Winfield Jr and Jamel Dean. However, their defense wasn’t very good at stopping the aerial attack even with those players in the lineup. They have given up the fourth-most passing yards in the NFL and allowed 27 touchdowns through the air.

I’m not worried about what happened when these two teams met in Week 1, where McLaurin was held to two catches for 17 yards, as it was Daniels’ first game as a pro. He was far from the player he is now.

I also like McLaurin to score a touchdown because I do believe Tampa Bay’s offense is going to put up some points, either forcing the Commanders into a negative game script or at least playing with some urgency.

  • Pick: Terry McLaurin Anytime TD (+140 at bet365)

Aaron Jones

Aaron Jones has not scored a touchdown since Week 15 and has just seven TDs in 17 games this season. But up against a Rams defense that ranks 26th in rush yards allowed per carry, I like Jones to break his three-game scoreless streak.

I know he has been limited in practice this week (at the time of writing this), but he played through this injury in Week 18, and reportedly did not suffer any setbacks. So, I do expect to see him on the field Monday night.

Jones is averaging a team-high 3.47 red zone looks per game this season, where Justin Jefferson is second with 1.47, and 0.94 goal line looks per game, where Cam Akers is second with 0.33. One week after Sam Darnold struggling mightily in the red zone, I suspect Kevin O’Connell to lean on his ground game a little more in that area of the field in a do-or-die scenario.

  • Pick: Aaron Jones Anytime TD (+125 at DraftKings)

As the NFL playoffs kick off with the Wild Card round, fans and bettors alike are eagerly anticipating the action on the field. One popular type of bet that many are considering is the anytime touchdown scorer bet, where you predict which player will score a touchdown at any point during the game.

In the Wild Card round, there are several key matchups that could provide opportunities for players to find the end zone. Let’s take a look at some predictions for potential anytime touchdown scorers in these games:

1. Indianapolis Colts vs. Buffalo Bills
In this matchup, one player to keep an eye on for an anytime touchdown scorer bet is Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. Taylor has been a force in the Colts’ backfield this season, rushing for over 1,100 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns. With his ability to break off big runs and find the end zone, Taylor could be a solid pick for a anytime touchdown scorer bet in this game.

On the Bills’ side, wide receiver Stefon Diggs is a top candidate for an anytime touchdown scorer bet. Diggs has been quarterback Josh Allen’s favorite target this season, racking up over 1,500 receiving yards and scoring 8 touchdowns. With his speed and route-running ability, Diggs is always a threat to score when he’s on the field.

2. Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks
In this NFC West showdown, Rams wide receiver Robert Woods could be a solid pick for an anytime touchdown scorer bet. Woods has been a reliable target for quarterback Jared Goff this season, hauling in over 900 receiving yards and scoring 6 touchdowns. With his versatility and ability to make plays in the red zone, Woods could find the end zone in this game.

For the Seahawks, running back Chris Carson is a player to watch for an anytime touchdown scorer bet. Carson has been a key part of Seattle’s offense this season, rushing for over 600 yards and scoring 5 touchdowns despite missing some time due to injury. With his physical running style and nose for the end zone, Carson could be a strong pick for a anytime touchdown scorer bet in this game.

Overall, the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs is sure to provide plenty of excitement and opportunities for players to score touchdowns. By considering these predictions for anytime touchdown scorers in key matchups, fans and bettors can make informed decisions when placing their bets on this exciting weekend of football.
