Ohio State vs Texas Same-Game Parlay Pick #1: Ohio State ML
The college football odds list Ohio State as a 6.5-point favorite vs Texas in the Cotton Bowl. The Buckeyes have been rolling through their first two games of the CFP and have looked unstoppable. They beat Tennessee 42-17 in the first round then trampled Oregon 41-21 in the Rose Bowl. None of their first two games were close resulting in a larger spread in this game.
While Ohio State has the firepower to cover the spread in this game, I will be more conservative in my SGP and pick them to simply win. Texas has been in two close games in the CFP, while Ohio State has yet to be challenged. Despite the Longhorns defense not looking like they have all season vs Clemson and Arizona State, they are still a talented unit.
Texas is playing the game in Arlington, so they will have a lot of fans there. We have not seen Ohio State have to play from behind or play a close game in these playoffs yet, so this game could be closer than the spread suggests. Still, the Buckeyes have the momentum and talent to win this game, and we will still get credit for this leg even if it is just by a field goal.
Buckeyes vs Longhorns SGP Pick #2: Jeremiah Smith 90+ Receiving Yards
A big part of why Ohio State has looked so good in these playoffs is freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Smith has gone for over 100 yards receiving in both CFP games and also has two scores in each.

Texas’s secondary has been vulnerable of late. They allowed 366 passing yards to Clemson and 296 to Arizona State, and they have yet to face a receiver with Smith’s skill set. He had six receptions vs Tennessee and seven receptions against Oregon and there is no reason for Will Howard to stop looking in Smith’s direction in the Cotton Bowl.
The Longhorns do not have the luxury of focusing in on Smith since Ohio State has plenty of other playmakers on offense. They do have a strong pass rush, which could help Smith, who is a beneficiary of the short passing game. As we saw against Oregon, Smith can take these short passes to the distance at any given moment. Smith has a great opportunity to go over 90 receiving yards yet again in this one.
Cotton Bowl Same-Game Parlay Pick #3: Quinn Ewers 2+ Passing Touchdowns
Quinn Ewers has been a bit of a disappointment in these playoffs, but he has still shown that he can play against top competition in his career.
Ewers threw for at least two touchdowns in eight of his ten regular seasons. He only threw one vs Georgia in the SEC Championship and against Clemson in the first round, but he bounced back and threw three against Arizona State in the CFP Quarterfinals. Even against a talented Ohio State secondary, Ewers has the tools to put together a good game, especially with over a week to prepare with Steve Sarkisian.
The other way we could hit this leg is if Ohio State does win big like many are predicting. If Texas is trailing for most of this game, Ewers will be throwing the ball more and will have more opportunities to put the ball in the endzone. Garbage time is not the worst thing for this same game parlay.

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Texas Longhorns are set to face off in the Cotton Bowl, and fans are already buzzing with excitement. While many will be tuning in to watch the game, others will be looking to place some bets to add an extra layer of excitement to the matchup.
One popular type of bet that has gained popularity in recent years is the same-game parlay. This type of bet allows bettors to combine multiple outcomes within the same game into one wager, potentially increasing their payout if all selections are correct.
For the Ohio State vs Texas Cotton Bowl matchup, there are several enticing same-game parlay bets that fans may want to consider. Here are some top options to consider:
1. Ohio State to win and over 60 total points scored: Both Ohio State and Texas have high-powered offenses that are capable of putting up big numbers. This bet combines a Buckeyes victory with a high-scoring game, which could result in a lucrative payout if both outcomes come to fruition.
2. J.K. Dobbins to score a touchdown and Ohio State to win by 10 or more points: Dobbins has been a key playmaker for the Buckeyes all season, and he could be poised for a big game in the Cotton Bowl. Pairing his potential touchdown with an Ohio State victory by a double-digit margin could be a winning combination.
3. Texas to score first and Ohio State to win: The Longhorns have a knack for getting off to fast starts, so betting on them to score first could be a smart move. However, the Buckeyes are favored to win the game overall, making this same-game parlay an intriguing option for bettors looking for a mix of risk and reward.
4. Over 300 passing yards for both quarterbacks: Ohio State’s Justin Fields and Texas’ Sam Ehlinger are both talented quarterbacks who are capable of putting up big numbers through the air. This bet hinges on both signal-callers having strong performances in the Cotton Bowl, which could lead to a high-scoring affair.
5. Both teams to score in every quarter: This same-game parlay is for those who expect a back-and-forth battle between Ohio State and Texas. If both teams can find the end zone in each quarter, bettors could be looking at a sizable payout.
As with any form of sports betting, it’s important for fans to gamble responsibly and only wager what they can afford to lose. While same-game parlays can offer enticing payouts, they also come with increased risk due to the multiple outcomes involved. By carefully considering the various options and doing thorough research on the teams and players involved, fans can make informed decisions when placing their bets on the Ohio State vs Texas Cotton Bowl matchup.
