Best Player Prop Bets for Monday Night Football Week 17: Detroit Lions vs San Francisco 49ers

  • The final NFL Week 17 game is a matchup between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers
  • This game is meaningless to both teams but we can always find a way to bet player props
  • Find two of my favorite Lions vs 49ers player props to bet for this MNF matchup on Dec. 30

We’re got one last shot at greatness in Week 17 and I’m thinking we should take it. We don’t have a lot of season left and it won’t be long until we’re wishing we had a football game to bet on. We go through this every single year. The only issue I see tonight is the fact that this is a meaningless game. It’s shocking but true. When the NFL pitted the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers against each other in Week 17, I’m sure they had no idea that the game would mean nothing. It’s nobody’s fault. Still, I’m pretty sure we can get a few player prop bets in on this thing and make it at least mean something to us. It’s definitely the move.

Lions vs 49ers Player Prop Picks

Player Rushing Attempts Rushing Yards Pick
Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) 18.5 (Ov -120 / Un -110) 89.5 (Ov -125 / Un -105) 100+ Rushing Yards (+120)
Player Receptions Receiving Yards Pick
Deebo Samuel (49ers) 4.5 (Ov +108 / Un -140) 48.5 (Ov -110 / Un -100) Over 4.5 Receptions (+108)

Jahmyr Gibbs Is an Animal

When the Detroit Lions drafted Jahmyr Gibbs in the first round, the experts were pissed. Everyone said it was way too high to draft a running back and that the Lions were idiots. Fast-forward to today and all of those “experts” were 100% wrong. Gibbs is an absolute stud and might be the best running back the Detroit Lions have ever rostered.

People think the man can literally do the impossible.

Here’s the thing with this one, we’re going to need volume to get home. I’m not saying 25+ carries type of volume but he’ll definitely need to go 17+ in the rushing attempt category. Given the fact that this game means nothing, it’s a gamble but one I’m willing to take.

Dan Campbell is not an ordinary coach and he’ll likely play his starters the entire game unless it turns into a beatdown. The idea of him resting guys before they play the Minnesota Vikings next week is kind of crazy. My guess is they treat this game like any other.

If and when that happens, we should see Gibbs run wild on the 49ers. The best way to attack San Francisco is on the ground. Everyone knows that. Four fo the last five starting running backs have all gone for 100+ rushing yards against these guys. They just don’t have the will to stop anyone. It’s sad when you think about it.

Deebo Samuel Will Get Loose Tonight

Anyone who took Deebo Samuel in the second round of their fantasy draft knows exactly what’s about to happen tonight. It’s just how this whole game we play works. We miss badly on a second-round pick that causes us to never be in contention, then that bust goes off when we don’t need him.

One thing we know about Deebo is, it looks like he’ll fight to the bitter end.

Don’t believe me? Go back and look at what has happened over the last couple weeks. Deebo literally tweeted out that he wanted more touches. I’m not sure if that’s exactly what he said but that was basically the gist of it.

Keep in mind, right after his tweet (and after he tanked every fantasy season), he immediately started getting targets. The first game was against the Los Angeles Rams but that game was played in pretty bad weather. He was only able to turn his seven targets into three catches for 16 yards. Everyone still though he stunk.

Then last week in Miami, he was targeted nine times which he turned into a 7-96-1 line. My guess is we see more of the same tonight except this game is against the team that has given up the third most receptions to the wide receiver position this season. The weather looks nice and the Niners have nothing to lose. Deebo is catching at least five passes tonight. Feels right.

As Monday Night Football kicks off in Week 17 with the Detroit Lions taking on the San Francisco 49ers, there are plenty of player prop bets to consider for this matchup. Both teams are looking to finish the season strong, making this game an exciting one to watch and bet on.

One player to keep an eye on for the Lions is quarterback Jared Goff. Goff has had an up-and-down season but has shown flashes of brilliance at times. One prop bet to consider for Goff is his passing yards total. The 49ers defense has been solid against the pass this season, but Goff has the ability to put up big numbers when he’s on his game. Look for Goff to potentially go over his passing yards total in this game.

On the 49ers side, running back Elijah Mitchell is a player to watch. Mitchell has emerged as the lead back for San Francisco and has been a key part of their offense in recent weeks. One prop bet to consider for Mitchell is his rushing yards total. The Lions defense has struggled against the run this season, so Mitchell could have a big game on the ground. Look for Mitchell to potentially go over his rushing yards total in this matchup.

Another player to consider for player prop bets is 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Samuel has been a dynamic playmaker for San Francisco this season, both as a receiver and a runner. One prop bet to consider for Samuel is his total yards from scrimmage. Samuel has the ability to make big plays in both the passing and running game, so look for him to potentially go over his total yards from scrimmage in this game.

Overall, there are plenty of player prop bets to consider for Monday Night Football in Week 17 between the Lions and 49ers. Whether it’s Jared Goff’s passing yards, Elijah Mitchell’s rushing yards, or Deebo Samuel’s total yards from scrimmage, there are opportunities to make some money on these player props. Be sure to do your research and make informed decisions when placing your bets on these player prop options.
