- It’s about time we lock in for the NFL Week 17 slate on December 29th, 2024
- The best and only way I know how to properly get in on the action is by betting NFL player props
- Getting bets in on Friday is my favorite strategy, and it’s no different for this week
When I woke up this morning, I said to myself, “You need to lock in.” That’s all it took. From that moment on, I’ve been as locked in as I could possibly be. Maybe more locked in than anyone has ever been. Who really even knows how to measure something like that? I sure as hell don’t. But one thing I do know is that we’ve been trading units with the books for too long.
It’s time we take over, and that’s what we’re doing this week. We’re going right for the throat with the Los Angeles Chargers/New England Patriots game on Saturday. Then, we’ll rest up, get a good night’s sleep and go in on the Indianapolis Colts/New York Giants matchup on Sunday. I don’t want to jinx it, but I think this could easily be the greatest weekend of our lives. We deserve this.

Antonio Gibson Goes Off On Saturday
All roads lead to Antonio Gibson this Saturday. We’ve finally reached that point of the season, and I, for one, couldn’t be happier about it. He’s been in my personal Circle of Trust for years now.
I’m just surprised it took everyone else to finally start realizing that this guy is the truth. Numbers don’t lie.
Antonio Gibson has as many touches of 10+ yards as Hunter Henry and Rhamondre Stevenson (10) since Week 10
Gibson’s played 77 snaps over that span compared to 258 for Henry and 205 for Mondre
Both by the numbers and on tape, he’s been the #Patriots most explosive skill player pic.twitter.com/PRQ7I0Yopz

Here’s the deal, people: Rhamondre Stevenson is a fumble machine. He had a good run of nine weeks where he didn’t lose a single fumble. We have to give him credit for that. But last week, he put another ball on the ground, which means he could be in trouble. They told him not to do that, and he did it anyway.
What I think happens is our guy, Antonio Gibson, gets a little love this week. He’s been used sparingly all season long, and he’s still produced. We’re talking three of his last four games have ended with him going for 30+ rushing yards. The only time he didn’t hit that mark was last week against the Buffalo Bills. Those guys are number one in the NFL in terms of opponent yards per attempt. He was never getting 30+ against them.
This week, the Patriots are hosting the Los Angeles Chargers, which is beautiful. It would be the perfect time for the Patriots’ Coaching Staff to teach Rhamondre a little lesson about fumbling and give Antonio 10+ carries. On the season, only five teams are worse than Los Angeles in terms of opponent yards per attempt. Translation: Antonio Gibson is going way over 30 rushing yards Saturday. Feels right.

Anthony Richardson Can Sling It
There are real people out there who still don’t think Anthony Richardson is any good. I know, it’s crazy. But go on Twitter and search for his name. You’ll see for yourself exactly what I’m talking about.
There are even haters saying that Richardson isn’t practicing, so he won’t play this week, but us real ones know that’s not the case.
Anthony Richardson has not practiced this week (back/foot) but it was #Colts HC Shane Steichen who said on 10/2 that AR could still play without practicing.
Perhaps that was gamesmanship heading into Wk5 but you’d assume that holds even more weight at this point in the season.

Here’s the rub. Anthony Richardson is playing on Sunday. I heard it might rain, but I don’t think it will. Even if it does, Anthony Richardson’s completion number is way off. We’re talking “somebody should get fired” off. It’s bad.
For starters, we just saw him complete 17 passes the week before last. He’s got it in him. He just needs the right opponent in the right situation. That opponent is highly likely to be the New York Giants.
Just last week, we saw first-timer, Michael Penix, complete 18 passes against these Giants. What’s even better is, those completions came in a 34-7 beating. It was a horrible game script and Penix still got loose. I’m expecting the same type of thing this week with a ton of dink and dunk opportunities. When that happens, Richardson could top 20+ completions. We only need 15. Feels easy.

As the NFL regular season comes to a close, Week 17 is shaping up to be an exciting one with several key matchups that could impact playoff seeding. For those looking to add some extra excitement to the games, player prop bets are a popular option. Here are some top NFL player prop bets to consider for Sunday, December 29th:
1. Lamar Jackson – Over/Under 250.5 Passing Yards
The Baltimore Ravens quarterback has been lighting up the league this season with his dual-threat ability. Jackson has shown he can beat teams with both his arm and his legs, making him a dangerous player to bet against. With the Ravens facing off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a divisional matchup, look for Jackson to have a big game through the air.
2. Christian McCaffrey – Over/Under 125.5 Rushing Yards
The Carolina Panthers running back has been a workhorse all season long, leading the league in rushing yards. McCaffrey has been a consistent performer for fantasy owners and bettors alike, making him a safe bet to hit the over on his rushing yards total. With the Panthers taking on the New Orleans Saints in Week 17, look for McCaffrey to have another big game on the ground.
3. Michael Thomas – Over/Under 100.5 Receiving Yards
The New Orleans Saints wide receiver has been a dominant force in the passing game this season, leading the league in receptions and receiving yards. Thomas has been a favorite target of quarterback Drew Brees and has shown he can put up big numbers against any defense. With the Saints facing off against the Panthers in Week 17, look for Thomas to have another big game through the air.
4. Aaron Rodgers – Over/Under 2.5 Touchdown Passes
The Green Bay Packers quarterback has been playing at a high level this season, leading his team to the top of the NFC North standings. Rodgers has shown he can still sling it with the best of them and has a knack for finding the end zone. With the Packers taking on the Detroit Lions in Week 17, look for Rodgers to have a big game throwing touchdown passes.
Overall, Week 17 is shaping up to be an exciting one with several key matchups that could impact playoff seeding. Whether you’re a seasoned bettor or just looking to add some extra excitement to the games, player prop bets are a fun way to get involved in the action.
