- The Aggies are 3-point favorites over the Trojans
- Keep reading for the latest Texas A&M vs USC odds, picks, and prediction for Friday, December 27
Two premier programs in college football wrap up their seasons in the Las Vegas Bowl. Texas A&M had a shot at the SEC Championship game before losing their last three SEC games. They finished the regular season with an 8-4 record. USC started their season in Las Vegas with a big win over LSU, but finished the season with a disappointing 6-6 record.
This is just the fourth time Texas A&M and USC have ever played. USC is 3-0 against the Aggies and the last time these two programs played was in the Bluebonnet Bowl in 1977. Three of the four times the Aggies and Trojans faced off have been in bowl games.
See below for the latest odds and picks for the 2024 edition of the Las Vegas Bowl.

Texas A&M Betting Trends
The Aggies finished with eight wins on the season but had one of the worst ATS records in the country. Texas A&M was just 3-9 against the spread this year and failed to cover the spread in their last four games. Their only ATS wins came against Florida, Missouri, and LSU. They were favored heading into all of those games.
Still, Texas A&M had a productive season on both sides of the ball. Conner Weigman entered the season as the starting quarterback, but the Aggies switched to freshman Marcell Reed a couple of times during the season. He first saw the field because Weigman got hurt, but Weigman was benched during the LSU game after returning from injury. Weigman opted out of this game as he entered the transfer portal. Stay up to date with all the opt-outs with our college football bowl opt outs tracker.
Reed provided a spark for Texas A&M’s offense, especially their rushing attack. He threw for 1,572 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four interceptions, then added 501 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. The Aggies want to run the ball and finished second in the SEC in rushing yards per game with 199.5. Even with opt-outs, the running game should still be intact in this game.

Texas A&M had a top-30 defense this season and a tremendous front seven. This is the unit that received the biggest blow when it comes to opt outs. They will be without defensive end Nic Scourton who declared for the NFL Draft, as well as two other defensive linemen.
USC Betting Trends
USC finished the 2024 regular season with a .500 record and was 7-5 against the spread. The Trojans covered the spread in two of their last three games. Despite their high-powered offense, the over has only hit once in USC’s last four games.
The season started off great for USC on the same field where they will play this bowl game. They upset LSU and the combination of Lincoln Reily and Miller Moss seemed to be something special. That did not turn out to be the case, and now Moss committed to Louisville for next season. Their offense will also be without dynamic playmaker Zachariah Branch. Sophomore quarterback Jayden Maiava will get the start in this bowl game. The UNLV transfer is back in Vegas after going 2-1 to end the regular season at USC. The receiving corps is deep, so they will still have some firepower in this game.
While they were not as bad as they were in years past, the Trojans defense still struggled this season. They especially struggled against the run, allowing 4.5 yards per carry, which was the fourth-most in the Big Ten.
Las Vegas Bowl Prediction
Unsurprisingly, both of these teams have been hit hard with opt-outs. The defensive line was a big reason for Texas A&M’s success this season, so losing three pieces will hurt in this game, especially against a talented USC offense. Even with the losses, I trust Mike Elko to have a plan in place for this defense. He has had plenty of time to prepare, and they are still better on paper than USC’s defense.
The Aggies still have Marcell Reed and their running game, and they should have no issues moving the ball on USC. While it has not rewarded bettors much this season, I believe Mike Elko will finish his first season at Texas A&M with a win (and cover).
