Anthony Davis (26.6 PPG, 11.8 RPG, 3.5 APG) leads the point total on Wednesday with an over/under of 25.5. Steph Curry (21.8 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 6.6 APG) is just behind AD at 24.5, despite averaging just 21.8 PPG so far this season. Curry has averaged at least 22.9 PPG in each of his last 11 seasons, and its clear that oddsmakers expect his production to increase as the season goes on.

Davis also has the highest rebound total at 11.5, which is four higher than any other player on the board. LeBron James (23.2 PPG, 8.0 RPG, 9.0 APG) leads the assist totals at 7.5, which is 1.5 lower than his season average. The soon-to-be 40-year-old is currently fourth in the league in assists per game at 9.0, which will be the third-highest mark of his storied career if it holds over the rest of the season.

After starting the season on a career-best pace, points-wise, AD has been very quiet over the last three, scoring just 5o points total (16.7 PPG) on 40.9% shooting from the field. He’s still been plenty effective on the glass in those games, though, recording at least ten in all three games and averaging 14.7 RPG, while also dishing out 5.0 APG and averaging 3.7 BPG. He currently sits sixth in the NBA MVP odds.

Lakers vs Warriors Prediction

Both of these teams have proven highly unpredictable this season, capable of beating just about anyone on any given night, while also suffering their share of losses against sub-.500 teams.

The one constant in Lakers/Warriors matchups over the last year-plus has been points. As mentioned, they obliterated Wednesday’s total of 223.5 in all four of their matchups last season. Both are in the top-half of the league in pace (LAL is fourth while the GSW is 11th) and neither boasts an elite Defensive Rating (the Warriors are 15th while the Lakers are 17th).

This is a marquee timeslot on the biggest night of the NBA regular season, but don’t expect playoff-like intensity on defense.
