It’s do-or-die time when the San Francisco 49ers host the Los Angeles Rams tonight on Thursday Night Football. Desperate to get out of the NFC West basement, the 49ers will need a big performance from a depleted roster to keep their playoff hopes alive against a Rams team coming off a big, 44-point performance. Kickoff for Thursday Night Football is scheduled for 8:15 pm ET.

Rams vs 49ers Same-Game Parlay Pick #1: Brock Purdy 250+ Passing Yards

Given the state of the 49ers’ running backs, a Brock Purdy passing prop makes a lot of sense for Thursday night against the Rams.

A quick recap on the Niners backs:

  • Christian McCaffrey came to the 2024 party late in and still left early, shut down for the season with a PCL injury;
  • Jordan Mason filled in admirably, but after suffering for weeks through a shoulder sprain, a high ankle sprain finally did him in; and
  • Isaac Guerendo put in a decent performance last week, but the rookie is now listed as questionable for TNF.

That leaves former practice squad player Robert Taylor Jr to pick up the slack. Now, I’m not saying a fourth-string RB can’t get the job done, but I feel like the 49ers will take to the air more than usual. That should suit Brock Purdy just fine.

Case in point: the one game where the Niners were home favorites and were also absent of both McCaffrey and Mason was last week’s 38-13 win over Chicago. Purdy threw for 325 yards with just 25 attempts, a number that’s not remotely close to his season-high.

That was against a Bears team that was previously averaging 209.4 passing yards per game. In comparison, the Rams are giving up 225 YPG in the air.

For what it’s worth, Purdy has gone over 250 yards in seven of the last ten games where he’s thrown 25 or more pass attempts.

If Guerendo is limited on Thursday and the Rams push the game tempo with their high-flying offense, expect the 49ers to throw a lot more passes than usual. That likely means more yardage for Purdy.

Rams vs 49ers Same-Game Parlay Pick #2: Kyren Williams Over 72.5 Rushing Yards

I made the mistake of underestimating Kyren Williams earlier this season and I don’t plan on doing it again.

First, I’m thinking the 49ers secondary will be a potential minefield for Matthew Stafford to navigate on Thursday. San Francisco’s defensive backs are currently third in passing yards allowed, third in yards per attempt, ninth in opponent passer rating, and tenth in expected points.

Stafford is going to hit Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp with passes, though the Rams will likely balance their offense with a lot of handoffs to Williams.

He’s gone over 73 yards in five of seven games where the Rams were one-score underdogs, and in a sixth game, Williams just missed that mark with 72 yards on the ground.

And although the 49ers are decent against the run in 2024, sitting 11th in yards per attempt and 12th in yards per game, they also have a lot of defensive players currently listed as questionable for TNF.

Their best run-stoppers, Fred Warner and De’Vondre Campbell, are ready to go, but the 49ers may be without Nick Bosa and Malik Mustapha, along with a mix of backup lineman and linebackers who are either questionable or out.

Again, Nacua and Kupp will get their targets, but Williams may steal the show if Stafford can’t consistently break through the San Francisco secondary.

Rams vs 49ers Same-Game Parlay Pick #3: George Kittle Anytime Touchdown

This leg of the parlay is largely me saying that George Kittle is due for a touchdown, if you consider Kittle going two games without scoring a drought.

At any rate, that two-game skid included:

  • a blizzard in Buffalo, where the Niners turned the ball over three times while only recording 94 passing yards; and
  • a monster performance against Chicago, where Kittle did everything but score, by recording 151 receiving yards from just six receptions.

For his career, Kittle has caught six touchdowns in twelve games against the Rams. That’s tied with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett for the most TDs recorded against the Rams since Kittle joined the league in 2017.

However, there’s one place where this leg of the parlay gets complicated: the red zone. The 49ers’ offense is currently 22nd in RZ Pct, while the Rams’ defense ranks eighth. Scoring may come at a premium for San Francisco if and when the Rams are backed up to the goal line.

But that’s where Kittle does all his best work! All of his receiving TDs this year have come in the red zone, just like all but one of his career TDs against the Rams.

Without CMC, Mason, and (potentially) Guerendo available to punch it in, more than ever Kittle will be the Niners’ primary scoring target from twenty yards out.

Thursday Night Football in Week 15 features a highly anticipated matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers. Both teams are jockeying for playoff positioning in the competitive NFC West, making this game a crucial one for both sides. One popular way to add excitement to the game is by placing a same-game parlay bet, where you can combine multiple bets into one wager for a potentially larger payout.

Here are some top same-game parlay picks to consider for the Rams vs 49ers matchup:

1. Matthew Stafford Over 275.5 Passing Yards: The Rams quarterback has been on fire this season, throwing for over 300 yards in six of his last seven games. Facing a tough 49ers defense, Stafford will likely be airing it out early and often in this game.

2. Deebo Samuel Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Samuel has been a dynamic playmaker for the 49ers this season, scoring touchdowns both as a receiver and a runner. With his ability to break big plays, he is a solid bet to find the end zone in this game.

3. Cooper Kupp Over 7.5 Receptions: Kupp has been the best receiver in the NFL this season, leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. He has been a target monster for Stafford all season and should continue to see plenty of looks in this game.

4. Under 48.5 Total Points: Both teams have strong defenses that can make life difficult for opposing offenses. With playoff implications on the line, expect a hard-fought, low-scoring affair between these division rivals.

5. Rams Moneyline: The Rams are the favorites in this game for a reason, boasting a high-powered offense and a stout defense. With their sights set on a deep playoff run, look for them to come out on top in this crucial matchup.

By combining these picks into a same-game parlay, you can increase your potential payout while adding even more excitement to an already thrilling Thursday Night Football showdown. Just remember to gamble responsibly and enjoy the game!
