Coming off their first loss of the season, the Minnesota Vikings (5-1, 5-1 ATS) look to take back top spot in the NFC North – at least for the time being – when they face the Los Angeles Rams (2-4, 1-5 ATS) at SoFi Stadium on Thursday Night Football this evening (8:15 pm ET). Minnesota is a field-goal favorite on the road and the public is hammering Minny to both win and cover in the Vikings vs Rams public betting splits.

Minnesota Vikings vs LA Rams Injury Reports

Minnesota Vikings Injury Game Status
Blake Cashman (LB) Toe Out
Akayleb Evans (CB) Hip Questionable
Dalton Risner (G) Back Questionable
TJ Hockenson (TE) Knee Questionable
LA Rams Injury Game Status
Joe Noteboom (C) Ankle Out
Jordan Whittington (WR) Shoulder Out
Troy Reeder (LB) Hamstring Out
Braden Fiske (DT) Back Questionable
Neville Gallimore (DT) Shoulder Questionable
Puka Nacua (WR) Knee Questionable

As has usually been the case in recent history, the Rams are in worse shape, injury-wise, than their opponents. On offense, tackle Joe Noteboom, who played 50% of snaps last year, is out with an ankle injury. He’s joined by WR Jordan Whittington (18 receptions, 201 yards) and starting inside linebacker Troy Reeder.

Another trio of Rams are questionable, including rising star Puka Nacua (knee), who hasn’t played since LA’s Week 1 loss to the Rams.

Minnesota will also be missing one of its starting ILBs with Blake Cashman (toe) ruled out for TNF. He’s the only Viking player listed as out on their final injury report. Backup corner Akayleb Evans is questionable with a hip injury.

It’s possible that a pair of important Minnesota players could make their season debuts tonight: guard Dalton Risner, who’s been kept out by a back injury up to this point, played 67% of snaps on the Minnesota O-line last season; and tight end TJ Hockenson (knee) who had 960 receiving yards and five touchdowns for Minnesota last year.

As the Minnesota Vikings prepare to take on the Los Angeles Rams in Thursday Night Football for Week 8, fans and bettors alike are eagerly analyzing the public-betting splits and injury reports to make informed decisions on where to place their bets.

One of the key factors to consider when looking at public-betting splits is the percentage of bets placed on each team. This can give insight into which team is receiving more support from the betting public. In this matchup, the Rams are currently favored by 6.5 points, and according to recent data, they are receiving around 60% of the bets. This indicates that the majority of bettors are backing the Rams to cover the spread.

However, it’s important to note that public-betting trends are just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to making betting decisions. It’s also crucial to take into account other factors such as injuries, weather conditions, and recent performance of both teams.

In terms of injuries, both teams are dealing with key players who are either questionable or ruled out for the game. The Vikings will be without star running back Dalvin Cook, who is dealing with an ankle injury. This could have a significant impact on their offensive game plan and could potentially shift the betting odds in favor of the Rams.

On the other hand, the Rams are dealing with injuries to key defensive players such as linebacker Leonard Floyd and cornerback Jalen Ramsey. These injuries could potentially open up opportunities for the Vikings to exploit weaknesses in the Rams’ defense.

Ultimately, when it comes to betting on Thursday Night Football between the Vikings and Rams, it’s important to consider all factors including public-betting splits, injuries, and recent performance. By doing thorough research and analysis, bettors can make more informed decisions and increase their chances of success.
