Top NFL Player Prop Bets for Week 5 Sunday Games (Oct. 6)

  • The NFL is back with another monster slate for Week 5 on Sunday, October 6th, 2024
  • A great way to get in on the action is by betting NFL player props
  • See below to find two of my favorite player props to bet for Week 5

We are sooooo back it’s not even funny. For the first time this season, we’ve got four different gambling windows on Sunday, and I couldn’t be happier. Obviously the traditional 1:00-4:00-8:20 trifecta we normally get is great. It’s kept us eating for years. But now the London games every season add a morning element to our Sundays that, frankly, we’ve been missing. Not this week, people.

And since we have a 9:30 am game, we should bet on it. We can’t have these guys flying all the way to London for nothing. Lucky for us, a matchup between the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings so I have something special cooked up.

After that game is over, we can flip our televisions to the Cleveland Browns vs Washington Commanders game and keep the cash flowing in. This could easily be the greatest week of our lives.

Tyler Conklin is About to Get Loose

All anyone can talk about is how bad the New York Jets offense has been so far this season. At the bus stop, barber shop, grocery store, everywhere. Incompetence is the topic of conversation. It’s sad.

But before all hope is lost, we can all take comfort in one fact. The Jets have Tyler Conklin on the roster and all they have to do is get him more involved.

Here’s the thing, the Jets have been trying to get Tyler Conklin more involved in the offense lately. Just last week, the man was targeted eight times. The week before Aaron Rodgers looked his way six times. In both games, he cleared this number. We just need four receptions here people.

What I like best about this whole thing is, the Vikings are going to blitz which means Rodgers is going to have to get rid of the ball quickly at times. We’re going to see at least one “BS” reception from that. As for the rest of the catches, that’s between Tyler and the Lord. Just know that only one team in the NFL has given up more passing yards than the Minnesota Vikings.

I like Tyler and the Lord’s chances of figuring this one out. Feels right.

  • The Pick: Tyler Conklin 4+ Receptions (+175) – Caesars

Happy Amari Cooper Week

Buy low, sell high. We’ve seen that saying on bumper stickers and bathroom walls so we know it’s legit. In the sports betting world, it’s a must and there are many ways to do it.

My favorite way this week is with a man that goes by the name of Amari Cooper.

Amari Cooper has been a master of deception so far this season. He’s made basically every person on the planet think that he’s forgotten how to play football. The guy is getting no separation, and when he gets a ball thrown his way, he makes his hands look like feet. It’s incredible.

But over the last two weeks, the whole facade has come fallen down. Against the New York Giants, he looked like a serviceable receiver. Then last week, his final stat line sucked, but he caught an 80+ yard touchdown that got called back. My point is, he hasn’t fooled me. I know he knows how to play football, and this week, he’ll see a team in the Washington Commanders that does not know how to cover football players.

This is the perfect storm for fans to get reintroduced to Amari Cooper. The one that can catch. Feels right.

As we head into Week 5 of the NFL season, there are plenty of exciting matchups to look forward to on Sunday. While betting on the outcome of games is always popular, player prop bets can add an extra layer of excitement to your football viewing experience. Here are some top NFL player prop bets to consider for the Sunday games on October 6th.

1. Patrick Mahomes – Over/Under 300.5 Passing Yards
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has been lighting up the stat sheet this season, averaging over 350 passing yards per game. With a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, who have a solid defense but have struggled against top quarterbacks, taking the over on Mahomes’ passing yards could be a smart bet.

2. Christian McCaffrey – Over/Under 125.5 Total Yards
The Carolina Panthers running back has been a dual-threat weapon for his team, racking up yards both on the ground and through the air. McCaffrey faces a tough Jacksonville Jaguars defense in Week 5, but his ability to make plays in space makes him a good bet to surpass 125 total yards.

3. DeAndre Hopkins – Over/Under 7.5 Receptions
The Houston Texans wide receiver has been a favorite target of quarterback Deshaun Watson this season, averaging over 8 receptions per game. With a matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, who have struggled against top receivers, taking the over on Hopkins’ receptions could pay off.

4. Aaron Jones – Over/Under 75.5 Rushing Yards
The Green Bay Packers running back has been a key part of their offense this season, averaging over 100 rushing yards per game. Jones faces a tough Dallas Cowboys defense in Week 5, but his ability to break big runs makes him a good bet to surpass 75 rushing yards.

5. Julio Jones – Over/Under 100.5 Receiving Yards
The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver has been one of the top receivers in the league for several years, averaging over 100 receiving yards per game this season. Jones faces a tough Houston Texans defense in Week 5, but his ability to make big plays downfield makes him a good bet to surpass 100 receiving yards.

When placing player prop bets, it’s important to consider factors such as matchups, injuries, and recent performance. By doing your research and staying informed on the latest news, you can increase your chances of making successful bets on NFL player props for Week 5 Sunday games. Good luck!
