The Los Angeles Dodgers host the Texas Rangers Wednesday night for the 2nd game of a best-of-3 series at 10:10 p.m. ET. Los Angeles won a blowout Tuesday night, 15-2 behind a 4-home run 6th inning. On the mound, James Paxton allowed just a pair of hits through 6 innings.
The Rangers (31-35, 13-18 away) are among the most average teams in the league a year after winning the World Series, but sit at 2nd in the AL West despite a losing record. The Dodgers are anything but average and sit in the top 5 in hits, batting average, team ERA, strikeouts, wins, home runs and many, many other categories.

Dodgers vs. Rangers Best Value Player Props (June 12)
Player Props (Los Angeles vs. Texas) | Odds |
---|---|
Jon Gray Over 3.5 Ks | -145 |
Mookie Betts over 1.5 Total Bases | +105 |
Adolis Garcia over 1.5 strikeouts | +145 |
All odds above via DraftKings Sportsbook.
It’s true that Gray has struggled against some top hitting lineups as of late, but he still earned more than this total against the Phillies and Giants in recent outings. Not to mention, he has significant experience against several Dodgers batters and has performed well against Betts and Ohtani throughout his career. In 15 at-bats against Freddie Freeman, he’s struck him out 9 times.
This is excellent value for one of the best hitters in baseball fresh off a strong outing with a double Tuesday night.
Garcia has never recorded a hit against Buehler, who is starting for the Dodgers tonight. He’s averaging over a strikeout per game this season and faces a Dodgers bullpen that’s among the best in the league. All in all, this is tremendous value.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Texas Rangers Prediction (June 12)
I can say with all confidence that this game should be a closer affair than Game 1 where the Dodgers downed Texas 15-2.
Dodgers -190 is simply too much risk for me, but with Gray unlikely to pitch more than 4 or 5 innings and the Rangers bullpen having been through the wringer that was last night, Dodgers -1.5 is a strong play at +110.
The trends are in favor of the over hitting with relative ease, with the firepower Los Angeles has and their performance at home this season, we’ll take that pick as well. Los Angeles is one of the top scoring teams in the league for a reason and could very well eat most of this total themselves.
LAD vs. TEX pick: LAD -1.5 (+110), Over 8.5 (-110)

The Rangers are expected to start Kyle Gibson, who has been solid on the mound this season with a 4.04 ERA and a 4-0 record. On the other side, the Dodgers are likely to start Walker Buehler, who has been dominant with a 2.38 ERA and a 5-0 record. When it comes to odds, the Dodgers are currently favored to win this game. As one of the top teams in the league, the Dodgers have been consistently performing well and are expected to continue their winning ways against the Rangers. However, the Rangers have been playing better as of late and could potentially pull off an upset if they can put together a strong performance.
As for props to target for this game, one option to consider is betting on the total runs scored. With two strong pitchers on the mound, this game could be a low-scoring affair.
