Predictions and Picks for MLB Home Runs on Dinger Tuesday (April 22)

Predictions and Picks for MLB Home Runs on Dinger Tuesday (April 22)
  • It’s Tuesday, so that means it’s time to bet on some home run props
  • Multiple sportsbooks are offering home run promotions for tonight’s MLB action
  • Keep reading to see the three players I am betting on to hit home runs today and how I am using these bonuses

With all 30 MLB teams in action tonight, there is no better time to bet on players to go yard than right now. Sportsbooks have offers available for all their users to take advantage of, so that is exactly what I am going to do.

It’s Dinger Tuesday at FanDuel, so all users can get a 50% profit boost on any player to hit a home run tonight. At DraftKings, users get a no-sweat home run bet, so even if the player they pick to hit a home run does not, they still get a bonus bet back.

Let’s jump into my home picks for tonight.

1. Yordan Alvarez (+480 with 50% Boost at FanDuel)

I am starting my Dinger Tuesday off with Yordan Alvarez. Yes, he only has two home runs on the year. Yes, Chris Bassitt is having a great year on the mound. But this is the perfect opportunity for Alvarez to get his season going the way he wants.

Alvarez has crushed Bassitt in his career, batting .421 with five home runs in 19 at-bats. Even with Bassitt having a great year, it is worth noting that he struggles more against lefties. In fact, in 2024, 14 of the 18 home runs he allowed were to left-handed batters such as Alvarez. The Blue Jays have also allowed the second-most home runs this season, with 31.

Alvarez is +320 to hit a home run tonight at FanDuel, but after using the 50% profit boost for Dinger Tuesday, he is +480. This is a great chance to improve the odds on a guy who has had a lot of success against Bassitt in his career.

2. Shea Langeliers (+340 at FanDuel)

My next home run pick for tonight is the catcher for the Athletics, Shea Langeliers. He has five home runs on the season and has gone yard twice in his last five games. The Athletics return “home” to their minor-league ballpark in Sacramento, where 22 home runs have been hit in nine games played in 2025.

Langliers faces Patrick Corbin tonight, and these will be the first ever at-bats for him against this pitcher.. Corbin has been better this year, but he has a long history of giving up a lot of runs in this league, and I expect that to happen again on Tuesday night.

Langeliers is hitting .462 against lefties this season and has hit two home runs off them, so his exit velocity of 91.2 should be seen against Corbin in Sacramento. Langliers is +340 to hit a home run tonight, so a $20 wager would win $68 and result in a payout of $88. The MLB odds have the total in this game listed at O/U 10.5, so runs are expected to come tonight. Bet on Langliers to hit one over the fence against a left-handed pitcher in a minor league ballpark.

3. Cedric Mullens (+750 at DraftKings)

My biggest home run longshot pick of the day is Cedric Mullens at +750 odds. This is a great opportunity to use the no-sweat home run bet at DraftKings. If he hits a home run, then we win a lot of money. If he doesn’t, we get a bonus bet back.

Mullens is 0-2 in his career vs Mitchell, but I am not worried about this small sample size. He has been great against left-handed pitchers in 2025, batting .333 with two home runs. He has also been hot, going yard twice in his last three games and three times in his last six.

Out of all the talented players in the Orioles lineup, Mullens has the most home runs on the year with six. He is playing at Nationals Park, which is ranked 10th in ballpark factor, so hirring one over the fence is certainly in play for Mullens. I expect him to stay hot in tonight’s matchup against the Nationals.

Dinger Tuesday is always an exciting day for baseball fans as they eagerly anticipate the long balls that will be hit out of the park. With several games scheduled for April 22nd, there are plenty of opportunities for players to showcase their power and add to their home run totals. Here are some predictions and picks for MLB home runs on Dinger Tuesday:

1. Mike Trout (Los Angeles Angels): Trout is always a threat to go deep every time he steps up to the plate. With his incredible power and ability to hit for both average and power, Trout is a strong candidate to hit a home run on Dinger Tuesday.

2. Pete Alonso (New York Mets): Alonso burst onto the scene last season with a record-breaking rookie campaign that saw him hit 53 home runs. The young slugger has continued his power surge this season and is a good bet to add to his home run total on Dinger Tuesday.

3. Cody Bellinger (Los Angeles Dodgers): Bellinger won the NL MVP award last season and has picked up right where he left off this year. With his smooth swing and raw power, Bellinger is a dangerous hitter who could easily go deep on Dinger Tuesday.

4. Aaron Judge (New York Yankees): Judge is known for his mammoth home runs and has the ability to hit the ball out of any ballpark. The Yankees slugger has been heating up at the plate recently and could be in line for a big game on Dinger Tuesday.

5. Christian Yelich (Milwaukee Brewers): Yelich won the NL MVP award last season and has established himself as one of the premier power hitters in the game. The Brewers outfielder has already hit several home runs this season and could add to his total on Dinger Tuesday.

While these are just a few predictions and picks for MLB home runs on Dinger Tuesday, there are plenty of other players who could also go deep on this exciting day of baseball. Whether it’s a veteran slugger or a young up-and-comer, fans can expect plenty of fireworks as players look to showcase their power and put on a show for the fans. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the long balls flying out of the park on Dinger Tuesday.
