Betting Guide for Game 1: Grizzlies vs Thunder – Odds, Picks, and Player Props

  • The OKC Thunder are big home favorites over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1 on Sunday
  • The Thunder were 4-0 against the Grizzlies in the regular season, all double-digit wins
  • Below, see the Grizzlies vs Thunder odds, picks, and player props to bet on April 20

The West #1 OKC Thunder (68-14, 35-6 home, 53-26-4 ATS) kick off their highly-anticipated 2025 NBA playoff campaign against the #8 Memphis Grizzlies (48-34, 22-19 away, 41-40-1 ATS) on Sunday afternoon at the Paycom Center at 12:10 pm CT/1:10 pm ET.

The Thunder won all four regular-season meetings between the teams. Their quartet of double-digit wins also led to four ATS victories over Memphis, part of OKC’s NBA-best record against the spread. The Grizzlies vs Thunder Game 1 odds reflect that disparity and the spread is considerably higher than it was for any of the regular-season meetings.

Memphis Grizzlies vs OKC Thunder Odds

The Thunder are massive 13.5-point favorites for Sunday’s matinee, which equals the biggest spread of any of the eight Game 1s on the schedule on Saturday and Sunday. (Boston is also laying 13.5 at home against Miami.) On the moneyline, OKC is a -1000 favorite, equalling a 90.91% implied win probability. Memphis comes back as a +650 underdog 13.33%. (

OKC enters the playoffs as the favorite in the NBA championship odds at a range of +170 to +185, just ahead of the reigning-champion Celtics (+190 to +200). The Grizzlies are anywhere from +30000 to +50000 longshots to go all the way in the NBA playoff bracket.

Memphis earned its berth as the #8 seed with a 120-106 home win over the Mavericks in the 9-vs-10 play-in game on Friday, their second game in four nights. Jaren Jackson Jr (22.2 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 2.0 AP) had a team-high 24 points while Ja Morant (23.2 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 7.3 APG) and Desmond Bane (19.2 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 5.3 APG) each added 22.

The Thunder have been off since Sunday, and the bulk of their rotation players even longer.

MEM vs OKC Regular-Season Results

OKC’s four regular-season wins over Memphis all came by 13 points or more and by an average of 18.75 PPG, which was more than enough to cover the spread each time out. Three of four (the three most-recent) all stayed under the total.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (32.7 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 6.4 APG), the heavy favorite in the NBA MVP odds, scored 30-plus in all four games against the Grizzlies (35, 32, 41, 37), leading OKC in scoring each time.

MEM Grizzlies vs OKC Thunder Player Props

NBA player props from DraftKings on April 20.

SGA’s point total (32.5 O/U) is basically right on his season average of 32.7 PPG, but well below what he averaged against the Grizzlies in the regular season (36.3 PPG). Morant has the highest point total on the Memphis side at 23.5. He had 22 in both play-in games. He only played in two of four regular-season meetings against OKC, scoring 16 on Feb. 8 and 24 on Mar. 3.

Memphis’ rookie center Zach Edey (9.2 PPG, 8.3 RPG) has the highest rebound total at 11.5. Edey saw increased minutes in the month of April (30.5 MPG compared to 21.5 MPG for the season as a whole) and made it count, averaging a monstrous 15.7 RPG in six games. He had another 17 in the loss to Golden State and 11 in the win over Dallas.

Grizzlies vs Thunder Picks & Predictions

  • OKC Thunder -13.5 (-105)
  • SGA over 32.5 points (-120)
  • Edey over 11.5 rebounds (-105)

The Thunder annihilated the Grizzlies four times in the regular season and I don’t expect anything to change in the playoffs. OKC is stacked to the gills and, unlike last year, now has the most-dominant guard in the world with SGA blossoming into an MVP.

Gilgeous-Alexander averaged over 30 PPG in the playoffs last year (30.2) and I expect him to continue where he left off, both as a postseason performer and as a player who carves up the Grizzlies.

I am also going to bet Edey over 11.5 rebounds given the way he’s dominated the glass over the last three weeks. With both teams playing up-tempo – Memphis plays at the fastest pace in the league and OKC is fifth – there should be a ton of possessions and, thus, more opportunities for rebounds. He only had two rebounds in 13 minutes against OKC in February, nine in 20 minutes on Mar. 5, and four in 17 minutes on Mar. 27. But he clearly has the trust of interim head coach Tuomas Iisalo, who took over in late March, which coincides with Edey’s ramped-up minutes.

Edey has hit 11 rebounds or more in eight of the last nine games in which he’s played more than 13 minutes.
