The Sacramento Kings (0-1) head to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers (2-0) at crypto.com Arena on Saturday night at 10:30 pm ET. It’s an early season Pacific Division showdown between two teams with playoff aspirations.

The Kings are looking to bounce back after a close opening night loss to the Timberwolves, while the Lakers aim to stay unbeaten under new head coach JJ Redick. Oddsmakers are giving a slight edge to Lebron James’ team at home.

Here is a look at our Kings vs Lakers prediction for Saturday night basketball.

Kings vs Lakers Predictions

  • Best Bet: Kings +1 (-115) at DraftKings
  • Lean: Over 229.5 (-110) at BetMGM

The Kings may have lost their opener, but there were promising signs. They hung tough with a good Timberwolves team, only losing 117-115. Sacramento got strong performances from several players, with DeMar DeRozan leading the way with 26 points in his Kings debut.

Domantas Sabonis added 24 points and eight rebounds, while rising star Keegan Murray posted an impressive double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. Sabonis is currently a +3000 longshots in the NBA MVP odds.

Sacramento matches up well with the Lakers. Point guard De’Aaron Fox has had great success against LA, averaging 28.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists over his last 14 games in the matchup. The Kings have also had the Lakers’ number recently, winning the last five head-to-head meetings.

The Lakers are off to a 2-0 start, but those wins came against a depleted Suns team missing Devin Booker and a Timberwolves squad without Rudy Gobert. LA also needed a big second-half comeback to beat Phoenix after trailing by 22.

On the second night of a back-to-back, I think the older Lakers could be vulnerable, especially with Jarred Vanderbilt and Christian Wood out injured. The sharps seem to agree, with LA originally opening at -3.5 before being bet down.

I’m backing the Kings to cover as short road dogs and leaning to the over on the game total. Sacramento is hungry to prove last year wasn’t a fluke and should give maximum effort here.

NBA player props from FanDuel Sportsbook on Oct. 26.

Anthony Davis has the highest points prop on the board at 25.5 after scoring 35 or more in each of the Lakers’ first two games. De’Aaron Fox’s over/under is set at 23.5 as he aims to stay hot against LA.

A few additional props that stand out for me:

  • De’Aaron Fox over 1.5 threes made (-135) at DraftKings: Fox hit multiple threes in 43 out of 73 games last season. He should have a green light from deep against a Lakers team that gave up the 4th most threes per game in 2023-24.
  • LeBron James under 7.5 rebounds (+100) at Caesars: At age 40, expect James’ rebounding numbers to decline, especially on the second night of back-to-backs. He had seven or fewer boards in over half his games last year.
  • Keegan Murray over 2.5 threes made (-140) at FanDuel: The sophomore sharpshooter cashed this over in 38 of 74 games in his rookie campaign, a 51.4% hit rate. This price is great value at -140, as I believe it should closer to the -200 range.

Best Sacramento Kings vs LA Lakers Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Sacramento Kings +1 (-115) at DraftKings +105 at PointsBet Over 229.5 (-110) at BetMGM
Los Angeles Lakers -1 (-105) at FanDuel -125 at Caesars Under 230 (-110) at DraftKings

The Kings are slim 1-point underdogs, and +105 on the moneyline, implying a 48.8% chance of an outright Sacramento win. The fact that the line is so close indicates the oddsmakers view this as a near toss-up.

Sacramento’s strong record against LA likely factored into the tight spread, as did the Lakers being on the second night of a back-to-back. The Lakers’ moneyline price of -125 gives them a 55.6% implied probability of victory, showing they are only slight favorites at home.

The total of 229.5 to 230 points is among the highest on Saturday’s slate, which makes sense given that both teams ranked top-12 in pace last season. The over is juiced to -110, meaning sportsbooks are charging a slightly higher price on that side, as they expect more action on a high-scoring game between these two clubs.

One interesting note – the NBA public betting splits so far show 64% of spread bets and 76% of spread handle on the Kings +1. It appears early bettors are siding with the underdog here.

The best Kings spread is +1 (-115) at DraftKings, while FanDuel has the top Lakers spread at -1 (-105). For moneyline bettors, PointsBet offers Sacramento at +105 and Caesars lists the Lakers at -125.

The total ranges from 229.5 to 230 across the market. BetMGM has the best price on the over at 229.5 (-110), with DraftKings offering under 230 (-110).

The Sacramento Kings will face off against the LA Lakers on October 26th in what is sure to be an exciting matchup. Both teams have had strong starts to the season and will be looking to continue their winning ways.

In terms of predictions, this game could go either way. The Kings have shown flashes of brilliance early in the season, with De’Aaron Fox leading the charge. Fox has been averaging over 20 points per game and has been a key playmaker for the Kings. If he can continue his strong play, the Kings have a good chance of coming out on top.

On the other hand, the Lakers have been dominant so far this season, led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis. James has been playing at an MVP level, averaging nearly a triple-double per game. Davis has also been a force to be reckoned with, averaging over 25 points and 10 rebounds per game. If these two can continue their stellar play, the Lakers will be tough to beat.

When it comes to player props, there are a few key matchups to keep an eye on. Fox vs. James will be a battle of two dynamic playmakers, while Davis vs. Marvin Bagley III will be a matchup of two talented big men. Look for these players to have a big impact on the outcome of the game.

As for the odds, the Lakers are currently favored to win this matchup. However, the Kings have shown that they are a team to be reckoned with and could pull off an upset. It will be interesting to see how this game plays out and which team comes out on top.

Overall, this game has all the makings of a thrilling contest between two talented teams. Whether you’re a fan of the Kings or the Lakers, this is a game you won’t want to miss. Be sure to tune in on October 26th to see who comes out victorious in this exciting matchup.
