The New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings have both played strong basketball over in Las Vegas at the Summer League, but New York has fallen just short in 2 straight games to sit at 0-2. The Knicks fell just last night to the Brooklyn Nets.

The Kings started slow against Zach Edey and the Grizzlies but rebounded with a win against a good Jazz SL roster on Monday.

The Kings are considered favorites for tonight’s matchup at -4.5. Sacramento sits at -190 to win outright while the Knicks’ number comes in at +158. Keep in mind – both New York losses have come by less than 8 points.

Kings vs. Knicks Summer League Rosters, Players to Watch

The first player I think of when I see these 2 teams ready to match up is Adonis Arms for Sacramento. In fact, Arms has had such an amazing Summer League that he may only see limited minutes tonight. The former Red Raider dropped 32 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists against the Lakers in the California Summer League and totaled 5 points in 8 minutes against the Jazz.

But Arms isn’t the only Kings player who can put the bucket in the hoop. Colby Jones dropped 25 against the Jazz while Mason Jones finished with a cool 13 points.

Here’s a look at the full roster:

New York has 4 draft picks playing on their Summer League roster: Tyler Kolek, Ariel Hukporti, Kevin McCullar and Pacome Dadiet. McCullar has yet to suit up as he nurses a minor injury.

So far, every single pick has been outshined by point guard Duane Washington Jr, who has real NBA experience and is probably too good for Summer League. Washington has scored 26 and 21 for the Knicks so far in Las Vegas.

Knicks vs. Kings Picks & Predictions

This should be an excellent Summer League matchup, and my lone prediction is that it’ll be a close one.

That’s the reason why I’m taking New York plus the points. The Knicks have been competitive in every game they’ve played, even though their newly-acquired pieces have taken some time to get up to speed. I expect a stronger performance from at least one of Kolek, Hukporti or Dadiet tonight.

I believe the Kings are shutting Arms down for the remainder of Summer League, or at least cutting his minutes way back. He’s been that good. If he sees more than 15 minutes or so I’d say Sacramento walks away with a close win.

NYK vs. SAC picks:

  • NYK +4.5 (-110)
