- College football gamblers have a lot to look forward to on Saturday, September 28, 2024
- Of all the games, two have caught my eye, and both deserve a slap or two from us bettors
- See the best way to bet on these Saturday college football games below
Another Saturday, another opportunity to gamble on college football all day long. Sounds like a dream scenario to me. The most important thing we can do is figure out, what our schedules are for the day, and make sure we have games to bet around those schedules. It’s not always easy but lucky for us, they play college football all day long. We’re good.
This week I’m not free until 3 pm (ish). In a situation like that, the move is to find a 3:30 pm ET bet and then follow it up with something in the 7:00-8:00 pm ET window. That way, you’ll have action for almost eight straight hours.
That’s called heaven, and we have that since we can just go with Fresno State/UNLV at 3:30 and then follow it up with Cincinnati/Texas Tech at 8:00. This could be the greatest Saturday of our lives. Maybe better.

Everyone knows about the situation with the UNLV Quarterback. Long story short, he is saying he was promised a certain amount of cash and never got it. Who knows what really happened, but one thing we know for sure is, he’s gone. He left the school.
The thing is, it looks like the Rebels have already forgotten about him.

This thing is going to be about vibes only. The only stats I think matter are the passing numbers from UNLV’s first three games. Actually two since one of those games was against Utah Tech. In UNLV’s two games against “real teams”, Matthew Sluka threw for 157 yards. Combined. That’s terrible.
My point is, how do we know the Rebels aren’t better off without Sluka? The kid they have starting Saturday, Hajj-Malik Williams, is a legit badass. He can run and throw. He could actually unlock stud receiver, Ricky White, which would go a long way in moving the season forward.
While I was tempted to go with UNLV -1000, I ultimately fell on the over at FanDuel. I bumped it up with an alt number at plus money for the vibes. Feels right.
- The Pick: Fresno State/UNLV Over 51.5 (+112)
Cincinnati Should Be Favored
This is the tough one of the two. It’s at night and every gambler knows that we have to lock in on our night games. There’s no such thing as Pac-12 after dark anymore so it’s not like we have a lot of “get back opportunity”. Obviously we have the NFL slate on Sunday, but we want to go to bed winners on Saturday night.
No matter what happens with the game, Cincy is going to look good Saturday night.

Early in the college football season, us gamblers can get great opportunities just by paying attention. If we look at Texas Tech’s record, it’s 3-1. You would think that’s good but we have to dig a little deeper. These kids almost lost to Abilene Christian. They legit gave up 51 points in that game. They’ve since lost to Washington State and only beat Arizona State by one score. My point is, they have issues, and they aren’t going away Saturday night.
Now, the haters are going to say that Cincinnati had one of the worst loses of the season against Pittsburgh, but whatever. They were up two touchdowns in the fourth quarter in that game and somehow lost. Still, I like to focus on the fact that they were up 14 points in the fourth quarter.
We’ve since seen them boat-raced Houston 34-0. Make no mistake, this could be a butt-squeezer but I think Cincinnati wins this game outright. Feels right.
- The Pick: Cincinnati Bearcats ML (+122)

College football fans are gearing up for another exciting weekend of games on September 28th. With so many matchups to choose from, it can be overwhelming to decide which games to watch or bet on. To help you make the most of your college football viewing experience, here are some of the best bets for games happening on September 28th.
One game that is sure to be a must-watch is the matchup between the Clemson Tigers and the North Carolina Tar Heels. Clemson is currently ranked as the number one team in the country and is coming off a dominant win over Syracuse. North Carolina, on the other hand, has had a strong start to the season and will be looking to pull off a major upset. While Clemson is favored to win this game, North Carolina has the potential to keep it close and cover the spread.
Another game to keep an eye on is the showdown between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Ohio State has been on fire this season, with quarterback Justin Fields leading the way. Nebraska, however, has shown flashes of brilliance and could give Ohio State a run for their money. This game has the potential to be a high-scoring affair, so betting on the over could be a smart move.
For those looking for an underdog to root for, the Arizona State Sun Devils could be a good bet. They will be facing off against the California Golden Bears, who have struggled in recent weeks. Arizona State has a strong defense and could cause problems for California’s offense. Betting on Arizona State to cover the spread could pay off in this matchup.
Overall, there are plenty of exciting college football games happening on September 28th. Whether you’re a casual fan or a seasoned bettor, there are plenty of opportunities to get in on the action and make some money. Keep these games in mind as you plan your weekend viewing schedule and enjoy all the thrills that college football has to offer.
